I can't do any of those things and I consider myself to be a great parent. I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old who has autism.
Personally, I think being a good parent means putting your children before yourself. Always being there for them, and supporting them in every way. You have to love them unconditionally. You have to make sure they are safe and that they grow up to be good people...
I think those are some of the things that matter more than the ability to cook and sew...

HA thats like saying i have a brain and know how to use it could i be president???
It takes a very strong person to carry and deliver a baby! Any woman who is fertile can do that! But it takes a special type of woman to raise those children into decent human beings! There alot more to parenting then cooking and sewing and cooking! :D
You have to have a lot of basic knowledge on cooking but also know what not to feed your kids to much of so there teeth do not rot or they get a tummy ache. Also sewing clothes is necessary but you do not even have to know how to do that! Most woman learn how to slide that plastic card through that lil machine and walk out the store! To tell you exactly what it takes to be a parent would take my whole life! But if you already knew why would you ask us?

Being a good parent has nothing to do with cooking and/or sewing.
Being a good parent has everything to do with loving, caring and attention. Being able to cook and sew means that you have some great skills to help manage the day to day issues of living, but its whether you really have the ability to reach into yourself and give a piece of yourself to a precious scrap of a human being, and then, when the time is right, letting them go.

lol! did ya say you like to cook? j/k!
Well, that doesn't necessarily make you a good parent. A good parent knows what's going on w/ their kid. You pay attention to their lives, and develop a relationship w/ them, while keeping in balance the fact that you won't always be their best friend, b/c you have to be the one who tells them what to do. Always make sure your kids are comfortable talking to you....never create barriers. Be consistent!!
Being domestic is great, but a healthy relationship w/ your kids will be more remembered than cooking, cleaning, and sewing.

Based on the fact that you like to cook and sew clothes I can't say that you'd make a good parent. Good parenting isn't based upon what YOU like to do. It is based upon whether or not you can be RESPONSIBLE.

Well thats a good start. The things you need is love and understanding. Kids are not easy. Try to explain logic to something that does not understand logic. Kids start out with zero knowledge so what is very darn obious to you is brand sparkling amazingly new to them. That creates a lot of problems. One of the main ingredients to be a good parent is patience. Di I mention patience is a good quality to have. Oh! and don't forget patience. One more thing to remember, when things get bad and you feel like puling your hair then remember patience. I think we get the main idea here. Also, lots of love.

I believe that if you love your kids and do your best to make sure that they are safe and happy, then you are a good parent. Everyone does things differently, and there are always mistakes along the way, but mistakes do not make you a bad parent.

being a good parent isnt based on what chores you can do, but what insight and mental strength you can give your children. Knowing how to talk to them teach them about the morals in life.

You have to like kids... while activities are good, it's important to be able to give them good character, and the personality skills they will need as well. Raising Kids is probably the most important and hardest thing you will ever do.
