Pregnancy & Parenting - 24 February 2007

It seems to me that some people get their kicks by terrifying pregnant women with horror stories about labor. At 41 weeks pregnant, I do not need to hear about anyone's 3 day labor, or someone who was refused an epidural, or someone who had to be induced 4 times before it worked, or someone whose baby was injured during delivery.

What is wrong with these people? What is a polite yet firm way to say, "Please shut up and think before you speak." ?

We both looked at our baby growth charts and we were both at least 25 inches by her age. Should we be concerned. It looks like the population of women are also getting smaller so is this normal?

so i went within 72 hours and i got the PLAN B morning after pill i should start my period on feb. 11th . and i didnt start yet i was late last month like 10 days so i tookthe pregancy test today and i was not pregnant what should i do . probably beacuse im stressed out.or ....please help

My 14 month daughter have 102 fever. She have a cold.
Would it be ok to take her out? There are 22 F degrees outside, and I'm afraid she would be affected. But I need to go out and do shopping.

ok, if u have read old posts of mine,my bf hit me, so i broke up with him, well my parents have araanged me 2 b married 2 a man i cannot stand and he and my brother are very good friends, i cannot stand him and he is like 25 or 26 rite now and i am only 16 and marry him a few days after my 18th b-day, well i thold my family that i wasnt going to marry him, but i am going 2 america just to see what it is like there ((im in the UK)) so my brother started screeming then after a while he calmed down, then he asked 2 speak 2 me, so he started yelling again and he slapped me becuase i woldnt change my mind, should i marry him, or go 2 america?

My sister has 2 weeks left until she is due (2nd child). However she's been experiencing a stomach ache since last night but no pain. She says she's been "using the bathroom". I'm not sure if this could be a sign of early labor or just a plain ole tummy ache.....

YEA YEA i know go to the doctor, But she's a stubborn one and even though its been almost 7 years since her 1st pregnancy, i dont think she'd know labor if it hit her on the head and said "HEY YOUR IN LABOR" lol....

if your baby had/has reflux when did they grow out of it and what did you do to help it? i found a great website on reflux with forums and it is real easy to use. its called www.infantrefluxdisease.com you can post about your worries and check with other experienced mums about your babies symptoms and see if they think its reflux. the site has really been a lifesaver for me and alot of other parents.

My soon-to-be 8yr old son is having a birthday party.... He doesn't play with any toys and doesn't ask for anything for his birthday besides money to spend on vacation...Last year, on his invitations, he wrote "I love gift cards". Is it appropriate to write "I prefer cash gifts" on his invitations this year? Any toys he receives will never be played with.
Is there another way to word this request?

My 9 month old has always been hard to get to sleep...at around 6 months...for some reason i ended up lying down with her and she babbled and then went to sleep no problem...so I continued to do that. Anyways...now that she has learned to sit up from lying down...she won't lie in bed anymore...as she would just lie there till she fell asleep...so i started putting her in the crib...first few days went great...but the last 2 days...she screams till she goes to sleep...I hate to hear her like that...anyone with ideas to get her to sleep without the screaming??

Ok I have been ttc, I was suppose to get my period on thrusday but i didn't- but these past few days and part of last week I have been spotting with a thick cervical mucus......could this be implantation? I have never seen the cm so thick. Just wondering, any answers and or comments are welcome.

I know it is probably obvious, but I have heard that the in-store pregnancy tests can turn out to be the wrong result even though they say over 99% accurate. My friend took one yesterday afternoon, then another one last night and both were positive. She is going to the clinic today to make sure, but how is what they are going to do any different? I did take a test at planned parenthood before and it looked like the same one I could buy in the store. But yeah, I was just wondering if anyone knew information about this. Thanks a lot..I'm trying to do my homework but can't concentrate! haha

they seem to be coming and going... along with the odd sharp stabbing pain im getting in my belly.
ive got 3 mobile numbers for my midwife and all phones are off and the maternity ward just tell me to take paracetamol and have a bath.

I am 38 weeks pregnant at my last appt i was 80% effaced and the baby was at 0 station, but i am not dilated! IS there a chance that i could be dilatated by this weeks appt? I have noticed an increase in discharge, is that a good sign? I know there is no real answer to this but just looking for some oppinions/experiences. Thanks.
