There is nothing wrong with being happy the way you are, no matter how society views you! The answer to your question is yes. But not very. I was quite overweight with both of my children and although I carried both almost to term and they were born pretty healthy I had to endure some common risk factors. One is gestational diabetes. you are at higher risk of having this and may need to get insulin which then puts the baby at risk for becoming too large which leads to delivery complications including c-section. another is high blood pressure. I had this and it puts the baby you're carrying at risk because it causes fetal distress. I was put on bedrest to keep my blood pressure down but was induced a few weeks early, as well as the possibility that my first would have been too large if I had continued to full term (she was born 1 month early) You should not fear becoming pregnant, but be informed of the complications that could arise, your pregnancy may not be as easy as a normal weight woman. It is often suggested that you lose weight before becoming pregnant but I know in my own experience, that is often hard to do. You also run the risk of miscarriage. I have listed a couple websites below where I extracted some exact information for you as well as some websites that I use myself for pregnancy and parenting advice. If you want to know more about what your risk factors are, go to one of these websites and type in pregnancy complications or something of the like. And lastly, don't worry yourself about all the dangerous stuff. If you are healthy, make all your doctor appointments and stay relaxed and do your best to keep the pregnancy healthy, you should be just fine. The worst thing to do is put yourself into emotional distress over things that may not affect you at all, but you are right to seek knowledge about this before the fact.

being over weight can infact reduce your chances of getting pregnant. Its advised that a woman is within her 'normal' weight range before having a baby. Yes alot of over weight woman do fall pregnant and have a baby however by getting pregnant on purpose when your over weight is putting yourself at risk of many problems such as high blood pressure which can be both dangerous to mother and baby and also diabeties which again can cause problems for mother and baby. You would gain more weight in pregnancy and with additional extra weight you would likey get severe back pain and increased breathlessness. You also have to think long term, a child needs a healthy parent and being overweight is not healthy and this isnt a good example for any child. You should lose weight not only for yourself but for the sake of your potential unborn baby. good luck

My husband and I are friends with a couple in which the wife is extremely overweight. They have a beautiful little girl that's 3 1/2 years old now. I think she was put in the "high-risk" category, but she went to all of her appointments and everything turned out fine. She did have a difficult time delivering, though, because she was so big and even with an epidural, she was very worn out throughout the whole birthing process. She did say she didn't want to do it again, though. I'm sure if you have good prenatal care, you can carry and deliver a baby no problem.

Women of all shapes and sizes have children. If you are overweight, you are at a higher risk for some conditions, such as PreEclampsia (pregnancy-induced high blood pressure) and Gestational Diabetes (pregnancy-induced diabetes). Also, women who are overweight have a higher risk of miscarriage, and a higher risk of infertility issues.

That being said, many, MANY overweight women conceive easily, have healthy pregnancies, and deliver healthy babies. On the flip side, many average sized women have difficulties conceiving, have difficult pregnancies or miscarriages, and deliver low birth weight babies or babies with other conditions. Your weight is a risk factor for a high risk pregnancy, but it does not on it's own determine whether or not you can have a healthy, normal pregnancy. Just like age is a risk factor, yet many women deliver healthy babies well into their forties and beyond.

I say if you are happy with yourself, you are healthy other than your weight (ie, you don't live on fast food, you walk or exercise regularly, you don't drink or smoke), and you take care of yourself and your baby during pregnancy, it is quite possible that you will have a healthy and happy pregnancy.

Good luck!

my body mass is 43 and i am 30 weeks pregnant i have had no probs so far i have regular checks to ensure that i havent developed diabetes and my midwife checks my blood pressure constantly to check its not high i have had no pobs my anaesthetist says that i am a higher risk of having a c section because of my weight but if i opt to have a epidural i can start natural birth and if i get into difficulties a emergency section Can be done on an epidural however my sis in law is the same weight as me only shorter so her bmi will be sightly higher and she has been trying to get pregnant for a while now and the doc says its because of her weight but try it and see if after so long you havent got pregnant go see your GP but remember if you are on the pill or anything it can take a while for you to fall pregnant so this doesn't mean its because of your weight just the pill but have fun trying and good luck

i am pleased that you are happy, i am overweight myself and have had four healthy children. but that does not mean that i would recommend it. with pregnancy, we do put on even more weight, and anything that you may find difficult to do now, would be even harder in pregnancy, including shedding the extra pounds after the child is born, with some people it decreases their fertility as well. i would suggest that you tried to lose some weight, i am not saying it to be nasty, i am really speaking from experience.
besides i am sure you know that any ailments you get now, the doctors like to blame on your weight, even if it has nothing to do with weight, so for your health and for the future, try and lose at leasy a little, you feel better for it. also it will come in handy when your little one is older and wants you to play ball games etc with him or her. good luck

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/kGslS

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

Its harder to consive if your over or under weight so that may be something to consider. Also as im sure you no you will put on a lot of weight while pregnant. Also pregnancy takes a lot out of you so maybe talking to a doctor now may be a good idea at least then you have plenty of time to change anything you need to change anything you need to. Im sure their are plenty of people out their who are over weight with babys so their are probably ways round it.

yes i cant affect you getting pregnant, and is more likely to give you health problems during pregnancy for example pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes etc..these can be very dangerous to you and the unborn baby.
its good that you both happy with the way you are but it wouldnt help to try and look after your weight a bit more, pregnant or not.

All size women have children, overweight women tend to get gestational diabetes. Talk to you doctor, maybe shed some pounds before you try conceiving, if you feel your weight is to much.
