I really do not think she will be a midget, has she grown since birth? As long as your doctor is happy with her growth chart she will be just fine. Here is a little hint, when she turns 2 years old, measure her and double her height, that is how tall she will be,trust me this really works!!

No. Your baby probably will not be a midget. Id like to say that when I was born I was tiny, I was also so small that I was never even on the growth charts so I was even below the 3rd percentile. But it was fine because my growing curve still showed I was growing fine. Would also like to say for the first 7 grades of school I was a foot shorter then every one else. Now I am 5 2 and though its short im certainly not a midget.

Well how long was she at birth.. and what percentile does the doctor say she is in? I was 18 inches at birth and I am 5'7'' today. My son was 21 inches long at birth and he is slightly above average in height at 5. You can not just assume she will be a midget.. that is just jumping the gun.. don't you think?? Make sure she is eating well and give her some vitamins.. I am sure she will be having some growing spurts soon. Relax!! Things will go well.. just give them the time they need. Good Luck!

measuring them and doubling their height at 2 years doesn't work. I was supposed to be 4' 11" and I'm 5' 7". My brother was supposed to be 5'10" and he's 6'3". so that doesn't work. Also, I was a very tiny baby and young child, but I grew until I was 16. Otherwise I would have been short like my mom who quit growing at 11. she's just under 5'

double check your doctors inches. Lay her down on a newspaper and draw lines at the head and feet. My doctor has come up wrong before. Your pediatrician will tell you if he/she is concerned with the length of your baby. Dont fret, you cant do anything about it, she is only 4 months old.

I wouldn't worry about it unless her pediatrician shows concern. She probably just hasn't hit a major growth spurt yet. And besides, if she only grows to 5'8" or 5'10", she'll still be tall.

First off, the term midget is not used anymore. It's degrading and insulting. If your child suffers from dwarfism, your doctor would be able to tell you this.

She is nowhere near midget stature, she is just growing slower than you and your wife grew.

How big or small your child is at birth or as a newborn has no bearing on how big or small they will be as an adult.
