I want to have kids but I am not in a relationship and other long term relationships have ended before we had kids. I am 33 and don't want to be too old before I have kids. Should I consider artificial insemination, is this wrong or is there an easier way?

My doctor said he couldn't imagine it would be any better than smoking except that it doesn't breath into the lungs but there is no conclusive documentation on the effects.

my 5 year old daughter has just gotten over chicken pox but is still quite sore with spots...I need her to go back to school tomorrow as I can't have any more time off work. The school says this is ok for her to do. I don't know what is for the best as the last thing I want to happen is for any of the other children taking the mickey out of her. Any thoughts?

I asked a question the other day about what sort of bed to put my 2.5 year old daughter in. I was SHOCKED that some women could not believe she was going into the bed so late and told me they put their own children into bed and between 9 and 15 months. Oh my god. 9 months old. Just because her child walked at 7 months she thought she should be put into a real bed at 9 months. Am I over reacting? Is it just like this in some parts of the world. Would that part happen to be America?? Cots are built so well now, so sturdy that there is no harm in leaving your child in it until they are 2. It saves accidents. Means she is that bit older coming out of it that she understands that she has her own bed now and knows the excitment of it. And my mind is at ease knowing while she is in the cot she is not jumping out roaming the house while we all sleep. which is quite possible. Its a big cot. And she is VERY tall for her age and she is no where near too small for it. What do you think?

This may sound silly, but i have to ask!! I am 2 months pregnant with my first baby =) and I am getting sick. I have a pretty bad cough as well as a sore throat and just achy. I have 2 questions.....1. Is there anything other than Tylenol that I can take, and 2. The coughing fits that i get don't effect the baby at all, right??

i was wondering what the chances are that im pregnant.. i had sex on the 2 or 3rd day of my period and it kept going after that.. then i got it again exactly 28 days after the start of the one before so i stopped worrying i have had 2 more since then and now im starting to worry since reading everything about bleeding during pregnancy.. with the bleeding thats normal during a pregnancy will it come when should be getting your period, how heavy is it and how long does it last..i have been experiencing bleeding that last 3-4 days and is not as heavy as it was before i had sex... is the only place u can get hpts from chemists.. and is it just off the shelf??

Where was the worst public place you suffered a bout of sickness while pregnant?

My sister in law rang me earlier, absolutely mortified, as she had just managed to vomit everywhere in the supermarket. I felt sooooooo sorry for her! Do you have any similar, terrible stories?

Ok I got off bc in September and my periods have been irregular but ive been charting my bbt to see when I ovulate. I ovulated last on Jan 30th and had sex with my husband on Jan 27th, 29th, & 30th. On Feb 5th & 6th I had implantation bleeding, it was scarce and pinkish brown. I took a dollar store pregnancy test yesterday, the 26th and it was negative. When should I wait to test agian? Also I have tender breasts, a lower bach ache that wont seem to go away, and Im very moody.

If a woman gets pregnant. She has the option of keeping or aborting the child. The fathers wishes are irrelevant.

This strikes me as extremely unfair.

If the man wants the child and the woman doesnt, the man is outta luck. Child is aborted.

If the man DOESNT want the child and the woman does, the man is outta luck and is paying child support for 18 years.

I am not suggesting that men SHOULD be able to dictate what a woman should do with her body (keep or abort) however i am saying that they should have SOME recourse.

If a man doesnt want a child and the woman does, the man should be allowed to sign documents forgoing all legal rights to the child thus absolving him of any of the costs associated with raising the child.

I delivered on 5th August 2006. I have not had sex since then. We could not find time as baby needed feeds often. My husband has also not forced me as I have not been keeping well. There has been so much calcium depletion in my body that my back and pelvic part hurts a lot. I cannot change sides myself as it pains. My question is how do I find time and will it hurt. How does everyone else gets time? My son has a very light sleep and even if we whisper at night, my son opens his eyes. How do I do it?

i was wondering how many parents can really handle if their kids dont meet their expectations, like for instance, what if their gay? what if their bank robbers? what if they have a dull job? what if they gain 300 pounds? what if they end up having a deformity? or what if they are just the type of person you wouldn't have liked? what do you do then?

i got this idea from watching a show about gay teens coming out. a lot of their parents became abusive, etc. i think in a way, the parents were disappointed, because they had high expectations, but the kids didnt just end up gay, they ended up hanging at bars and fooling around. so while one can understand their disappointment, at the same time a kid need unconditional love or its going to be sad. in fact, being mean to a kid because they dont meet your expectation could kill the child. they could die of a broken heart.
