He is drinking alot of liquids and he has had wet diapers. his temperature went from 99.5F to 101.1F in 1 nite. do i take him to the doctor? Is it ok to take him out to get fresh air even though the weather outside is cool/cold but very sunny?

Popsicles will help cool him down and sooth gums (if it is teething). If you are concerned over him not eating, Pedialyte makes popsicles too and they taste good. If his fever does not go down by this afternoon or if it goes higher, I would call his pediatritian just to be sure. And sure, take him outside! The cool air will help with the fever.

If he is running a fever I wouldnt let him stay outside for a long period of time but it is ok to let him have some fresh air. It could be teething or something else. Check his mouth, do you feel any teeth coming in? If his fever doesnt go away in a day or two I would take him to the dr. just to find out what is going on.

sounds like he may be teething. Babies get molars about this age.

Piggy back Tylenol and Motrin, if his fever stays high for to long. giving one does of altering every 4 hours

lukewarm baths help bring temps down, even a cool wash cloth on forhead helps.

Fresh air will not hurt him, some experts say it may even help.

You can give him children's Tylenol and if his fever should go down. Any higher put him in a Luke warm tub and call the doctor he might be cutting more teeth.

Lots of baths and Pedialyte. I'd call your doctor, since he's had the fever for two days.
