This may sound silly, but i have to ask!! I am 2 months pregnant with my first baby =) and I am getting sick. I have a pretty bad cough as well as a sore throat and just achy. I have 2 questions.....1. Is there anything other than Tylenol that I can take, and 2. The coughing fits that i get don't effect the baby at all, right??

I am in the same boat, 2 months preggers and sick everyday. This first tri-mester is important NOT to take anything. My doctor told me to take nothing if I can help it. You really have to find what works for you. It took me 2 weeks to figure it out. Milk and frosted mini-wheats seem to work best at keeping the nausea down. I have to keep something in my belly (about 5 meals a day) to keep from getting sick. As far as the sore throat, I'm not sure, all I know is that sucking on a lemon drop helps the nausea and in turn, may help your throat. I feel for ya!

Call your OB, when i was sick i was allowed to take, benadryl, tylenol, sudafed (limited amounts). And your fits shouldn;t hurt the baby its pretty protected in there. But when ever in doubt call the OB and check. Better safe then sorry here.

um, u really ought to ask a doctor, rather than a bunch of yahoos.
since u r pregnant u should have prenatal care so u dont end up listening to some uneducated persons best guess n wind up harming urself n ur baby
