Prenatal vitamins are basically a diatery suplament. They are formulated to have the vitamins and minerals that the female body needs when nurishing a fetus. These vitamins and minerals can help an female, and you will find that they almost match vitamins like one a day women's.

They can be prescribed, but its cheaper to buy them over the counter. The only thing that really varies is the taste.

If your friend has a vitamin deficientcy the prenatals may help her hair grow in, but because it is helping her have the nutrition she needs.

I don't think that the vitamins will help her hair become any nicer!!!! It's the pregnancy that does that not the vitamins. I didn't know that i prenatal vitamins need to be prescribed. I live in Australia and i brought them at the supermarket or pharmacy (drug store) when i was pregnant.

They can be prescribed but they are the same as the ones you buy on the shelves in most cases. Very few insurance companies will cover them even if you have a prescription. The folic acid and iron is higher in prenatal then in your regular multivitamin. Have her watch out for constipation though. High iron meds/food can cause really bad cases of it.

Yes, I had to take them cause my iron was low and the prenatals have more iron than usual vitamins. It did make my hair grow fast, but not all women get that side effect.

It's pregnancy that does nice things to your hair, not vitamins.

You can, I hear, get them prescribed, but I believe that's more a money-making racket than anything else. Why didn't she just get them at the drugstore? What on earth does she think is in them that's not in a regular multivitamin (and that will magically help her hair)?

Your friend sounds like a bit of a ditz...

You can buy vitamins just like they give at the doctor at the drug store. I would say vitamins does do your body good including hair. Buy vitamins at your drug store.
