My 14 month daughter have 102 fever. She have a cold.
Would it be ok to take her out? There are 22 F degrees outside, and I'm afraid she would be affected. But I need to go out and do shopping.

Umm hello. No it is not okay to take them out. When you have 102 fever do you feel like going shopping? If she is running a fever you should probably call her doctor because it is probably more than just a cold. There is probably more going on than that. That would be the only thing I would say you could take her out for.

First of all you should not take her out. Second give her some childrens motrin or tylenol to break the fever down....the dr will not do anything at that temp but tell you the same thing I just did. Take the temp rectally b/c that is the only accurate way of getting what she really is. If you really need to go run errands find someone to stay with her til you are done....grandma/ aunt...etc. give her lots of fluids and just make her feel loved. If the fever does not break after giving the medicine ( about an hour) call the physician.

First of all, don't panic. 102.8 is NOTHING to freak out about in a child that age. My daughter is three and when she is sick sometimes runs over 103*F, but her pediatrician has told me that I don't need to rush her in to the office or the ER unless it gets to 104*F; THAT is when you should panic about a fever. If my daughter runs a fever for more than 24 hours then I will CALL the doctor to see if I should bring her in, BUT, depending on the symptoms, sometimes a visit to the doctor is not even necessary. Red cheeks go along with a fever, but the elevated breathing rate is NOT okay. I have spoken to an on-call nurse before and been advised to take my daughter in to an urgent care center or ER after hours if her breathing is abnormal in any way. Don't PANIC, but it would not be a bad idea to take her in and have her checked out.

what is more important your daughter or shopping?? if you had a fever like that you would probably be in bed resting why would you expect differently of your daughter? if you really have to go, why dont you get a baby sitter? having a fever makes you feel like crap, dont drag your daughter around, let her get some rest so that she can get better.

You need to keep her in the house and let her rest. No matter what temperature it is outside you need to let her get a break and drop her fever. Shopping isn't that important!

No honey you need to keep her inside, maybe you can get a hold of someone to help you out and pick up some stuff for you or to watch your baby.

No...make a doctors appointment for that baby. Do your shopping later (have someone babysit,) this temperature is too high.

Give her tylonol and bundle her up. If you have to go out you have to go out. If the fever gets any higher I would go out to the dr.

Are you for real? Have someone else pick up a few things at the store for you.
