Pregnancy & Parenting - 31 January 2007

For the past couple of days my son has been very sleepy and coughing. He wakes up to eat and cry for a little bit, but he just seems like he wants to sleep all day. I tried taking his temp and the stupid thermometer read 5 different temps so i just quit so i didnt worry myself anymore. Whats wrong. I know im a new mom but he is 3 and a half months old and i worry just so much!!

my 6 year old son is not overweight by any means he playes many sports and is very good at them also sports such as hockey, lacross, Basketball, karate, gymnastics, and even dance....he is a very active child....they have this scoring thing at his school they get either a ---4---which is exceeding the standards, ---3--- meeting the standards, ----2--- working toward the standards, or ---1--- not meeting the standards....they give these scores in every area on their report card.....my son had mostly 4's and a few 3's on his report crad except gym class in which he got a 2 for 2 consecutive semesters in a row......i finally got concerned enough to call the school and ask to speak with the gym teacher.....they told me they would leave him a message to contact me yet it has been 3 days and he still has not called......i am thinking about going to the principal tomorrow to talk to him..... if there is an issue that is making him fail gym shouldn't i have been contacted

The Australian Government is giving $4000 for each baby born in Australia after July 2006. July 2008 it will go up to $5000.
I want to know;
1. If other countrys have the same once off payout
2. What do u think of it.

The problem is that she only acts up when she gets home from daycare. At daycare, they tell us that she's such a good baby and that she behaves and she's so much fun. So after a hard day at work, we want to take her home to play and spend time with her. But as soon as we get her home, we can't wait to put her to bed! She cries over nothing, throws little tantrums, and just wants to climb over and touch everything she's no supposed to. We try to tell her no and put our foot down, but it just causes more and more crying. Any suggestions? What discipline measures are appropriate at this age? She is 1 year and almost 3 months.

ok well i had posted a question on here lastnight. But to some it up again, i am (was) 9 weeks pregnant, and on monday i woke up and i was bleeding very lightly, then as i was up and moving, it stopped, then took a nap, and when i woke up i was bleeding again, so i went to the ER. and they did a enternal exam, and said he seen no blood, so they thought i might be dehydrated, took the test and i wasnt, so they took the HCG level test, and when doctor came back he had asked me if i was sure of my LMP, and i was, and he said that my HCG test showed only 8000 which is only 4 weeks, so he said that if i was correct on my LMP then there might be something wrong, so they set me up to have another HCG test today, so for the last 2 days i have been bleeding lightly, off and on, not that bad really, no pain at all, and i went today and my levels dropped by 1200. so now i am really confused. some say miscarrige, some say loss of a twin. ANY HELP???

All the names come from members of our family who have been significant in our lives. We are spelling the same way they had their name spelled and they didn't have any problems with it.
My mother in laws middle name is Jasper, My name is Nykole, and Jaysin is my fathers name. We are giving them 2 middle names so they can have more options in what they want to be called

My husband and I are both very attractive and high maintenance people.When our daughter was born 16 years ago we were both expecting a beauty queen but were devestated by what we got.We've tried dealing with the fact that our daughter is ugly but it's been hell.We send her to boarding school where she's been since she started school but now she wants to come home and I don't know how to deal.I don't want to take her places or be seen with her really.My husband has been able to deal with it a lot better than me but I don't know what to do once she gets here.She has everything a girl could possibly want material wise but still can't make friends and I'm so ashamed of her for it.We've never called her ugly to her face or tried to put her down in any way.How in the world could this have happened?What's a parent supposed to do?

I've been seeing one Dr. for 28 weeks now, The only problem is I dont want to have the baby in the hospital that my Dr. works out of. I just cant seem to understand their rules about the baby. Ex. Once the baby is born you can only have it in your room from 3-5pm unless its eatting, then when its eatting as soon as its done they take it back. No one at all is allowed to stay the night with you, you can only have 2 visitors at a time, and only between the hours of 12 and 5. So my question to you ladies is, do you think it will be hard to get another Dr. to take me since Ive been seeing this one for this long already?? And should I just tell them I want to switch because i dont want to go to that hospital??

My two year old granddaughter repeats everything she hears. The problem is, she repeats phrases using the same enunciation as her parents. This causes my granddaughter to get into trouble. Mom & Dad do not understand she is only repeating what she hears and therefore, they need to change their tone. I cannot change Mom and Dad, so what can I do to help my granddaughter?

My son was born at the normal weight of 8 lbs. 5 oz. (22.5 inches long) and began to grow rapidly. He gained 4 pounds in the first month and at 10 months old weighed 35 lbs. !! He is wearing 3T sleepers (can't wear anything else reall because his waste is so big and he's a chunky boy)... he is almost exclusively breastfed, only taking ocassional solids here and there (he's not really interested yet)... so he's NOT overfed.

The doctor says he's healthy (he does not have giantism or a thyroid problem like some people hypothesize when finding out how old he really is!)... the doc says he's just a BIG boy. WAY off the charts in both weight AND length.

I was curious if anyone else has every experienced this. Did their child stay large (taller and thicker than the other kids their age) or did they slow down and level out?? Just curious. His Daddy is 6'5" but was a bean-pole until recently. And his Mom says he was not nearly as big as our son (even though he was born at 10 lbs)

O.k I had a baby 9 wks ago and started haing sex 4 weeks after wards using the pull out method. we was very careful too about that...i had problems getting pregante to start with , so since i know there is a small chance you can get prenate by using the pull out method and i had a baby is there any chance i could get pregnate ... since the first time we tryed 2 yrs before getting it ?

Also this might help, my child was born nov 20 and i kept bleeding for about 3 weeks and then stoped for a week and at 6 wks started for a week my dr. said it was my first period...but thats been since dec 20th ish ... and i havent started it again.? Pregnate? or will it take a while to get my cycle right again..
What do u think whats the chances of being pregnate right now..
