what are the possible dangers and will you lose the fertilized egg and not have the baby?

No. Implantation bleeding is when the egg embeds in the uterus. It's supposed to embed, and SOMETIMES, when it does...the lining of your uterus bleeds a bit. Sometimes it's only a tiny bit, and sometimes it's like a small period. Implantation bleeding isn't dangerous...it's just a sign that the egg has implanted as it's supposed to.

With my first child, I didn't have any at all. With my second, I didn't even know I was pregnant because I had what I THOUGHT was a lighter period than normal. It lasted 4 days...and I just had a doctors appointment this morning, and found out that it's a very healthy baby boy!

Many women have heard the term "implantation bleeding", but do not know what it is, while other women have not heard it at all and tend to get worried when it happens. So what exactly is implantation bleeding?

In a pregnancy, when the ovum, or fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall at the beginning of the first trimester it can cause a little amount of blood to be released, better known as - implantation bleeding. The egg has actually attached itself to the mother's circulatory system so there isn't any wonder about where the blood comes from.

Implantation bleeding is when the fertilized egg burrows and attachs to the uterine wall. It can be scary, but it's not dangerous for you or the baby.

Implantation bleeding isn't dangerous, and it isn't associated with miscarriage, if that's what you're asking. It's just when the egg attatches to the bloody lining of your uterus, sometimes it disrupts the uterine lining and causes you to shed blood. Some women get only a couple spots, others bleed for a couple days. But it isn't related to miscarriage in any way...it's just your baby snuggling in for a nice, long stay! Good luck!
