Personally I do not know anyone with that name. February was named after the Latin term februum, which means purification, via the purification ritual Februa held on February 15 in the old Roman calendar.

Although the meaning of the name is good especially if it is a baby girl...but then consider the awkwardness for the child to carry the 'BURDEN' of the name throughout their life especially in adolocense.

I've never known anyone named February. It's definitely unique as a name though! I don't dislike it.

I went to school with a girl named January (she was born in Sept. though)...and of course there's the April's, May's/Mae's, June's, Summer's, and Autumn's we've heard about. I've even known a girl named Spring and two named Winter.

And I LOVE the names August and October for girls, or boys even.

Actually I do. I've heard of people named most of the months. There is January, February, April, May, June, August, and September. I have met people by all these names. The strangest one would have to be September. She was born in like March.

I've also heard of people named Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Do I like it? If you are born in February and that is your name, it's ok. Born in October and February, no.

I do not know anyone named February. The name isn't really my style at all. My birthday is in February so it is one of my favorite months. :)

The problem is the r after the b. It is a pain to say and just doesn't flow off the tongue like January - seems like it should be Febuary.

Take Care. SD

No, I don't know anyone by that name. I think that since most people pronounce it incorrectly (FebUary), it's a bad choice for a name. And if it's pronounced correctly it has 'brew' in the middle (FeBRUary). If you're looking for a seasonal name for your daughter, how about Winter? It's different without being bizarre and it conjures up nice images of snowflakes falling...at least for me.

Aloha :)

I was born in this lovely month, Suprised to hear it is your name. to me it is not a very feminine name and it has 4 syllables, too many for a first name, I think. Now the birth stone is Amethyst. I do like that. I know some one named September, June, May, April and December ( but i never liked her!!!)I also know days of the weeks: Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sundae( I know it's a dessert, but it fits).
