I am 22 weeks and 4 days pregnant. but on obstetric scan fetus shows a growth of 24 weeks and 2 days.?

I want to know whether this is any abnormality? what may be the reason?. doctor asked me to check blood sugar. plz reply......

relax, it's just your baby showing bigger than a 'normal' fetus at this stage. He may be testing to see if u have gestational diabetes. This could have an effect on the baby, making it larger than normal (i think :S )
My ultrasound showed me as a week ahead of what i was..no big deal. i was hoping for an earlier delivery, and my baby was only 7 lbs 10.5 oz. Which is only average. My baby came right 'on time', the day before my due date. Don't fret. Just make sure you are eating healthy and walking plenty. Take care of yourself and your health. Cut back on the junk and sweets if you're having it.

If he means that the baby looks about the size of 24 weeks along then it could be that the due date is off. Or by checking the blood sugar it could mean that there is a potential to have gestational diabetes. ( which will make your baby grow bigger than it should be.

It only means either you are further along than you thought or that you could have Gest. Diab. which could make your baby larger. But dont worry about it...now you could just have your baby sooner than you thought which isnt to bad..at least they didnt move your due date back 2 weeks. Good Luck

Dr should have told you if it was abnormality and if there was a concern. Gestational diabetes can cause a big baby...maybe that's what he's thinking? If you're really concerned...call the dr.
