Pregnancy & Parenting - 31 January 2007

My daughter is 3 months old, and during most of the day, a perfect angel. She's got her schedule down pretty well, getting hungry at feeding times, going down to naptimes pretty easily at the same time every day. The problem comes at night- after 6 P.M., it's impossible to get her to sleep. When I put her down, she cries hysterically, screaming even, as though she's in pain. If I pick her up, she stops, but refuses to fall asleep and remains awake & active. I have tried sitting with her in her room, using orajel & tylenol for teething pain, nursing her to sleep (she awakens again no more than 15 minutes later), and pretty much every other strategy I can think of. I find no symptoms of ear infection or diaper rash, nor of any other illness. I hate, HATE having to make her "cry it out", as this process easily lasts 30 minutes or more. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you solve it?? Please, help!

I have been trying to concieve for three months. I ovulated last around the 20th and for 9 days post ovulation I had a elevated temp, which all the info I have says is a good sign. Then yesterday it dropped and has remained dropped today, can I still be pregnant ? My only other signs are a bit moody, tired(only a little more than normal), and cramps above the pelvic bone and I was sick to my stomach a few days.

have pcos but doctor did ultrasound and ovaries are healthy and there was a temp. spike 9days ago, temp still high, just wandering if the temp spike and spotting could mean preg. too early for period im not supposed to start until next tuesday. i know test is the only way, gut just wanting some input. thanks

I have a son and a daughter (She is five and he is three), and my husband and I sometimes have one or the other. The kids are at the age where we do not feel comfortable having them go in and out of restrooms alone, but my husband sometimes gets stares going into the men's rooms with my daughter. Maybe this is no big deal, but what is the correct protocol? Is he supposed to go into the girl's room with HER, and what age does is become "not allowed" by public standards?

Does anyone have this problem or can you help. My boys will not go to sleep until late especially the 3yr.old he gets out of bed no lie at least 50 times and constantly runs throughout the house, he does not take naps at all during the day. It seems like he never gets tired and he keeps the 8 yr. old up. i am lucky to get to bed by 2 am. I am a single mother and i don't know what to do any suggeston. I am stern but it does not hurt i put them both to bed a 8pm every night.

I have had an implantation dip as well as slight spotting and a triphasic pattern on my chart. I know these aren't sure signs of a pregnancy but do you think the combination of the 3 sound like an excellent possiblity?

I have a friend that does weight watchers with me. We both became pregnant about the same time. Well she is due in less than a month and I still have about 10 weeks left. She usually gains so much weight during her pregnancies as well as I do. Well this time around, I've gained a ton and she hasn't. Well I always gain a bunch, but I lose a lot of it really fast because I retain sooo much water. Well anyway, I've already gained waaay too much weight and she has gained around 30. That's all she wants to talk about. I know it's not because I'm sitting around doing nothing or anything. I've a very active person and I've been eating right this whole pregnancy. My question is this. Do you have anything I can say to stick it to her and get her to just shut the hell up? It's getting soo old.

OK so today I took a pregnancy test and I know your supose to do it in the morning and when u havent consumed alot of liquids but I did it at like 5 or 6 pm after consuming alot of fluid and having to urinate really badly. I took the test and didn't wait more then a minute and figured it was negative but when I looked at it again I saw a second faint line and when I held it up I could see this line alot more. Am I pregnant? When should I re do the test? help im confused!

My 3 year old daughter went to a family day care from 8 months till about 3 weeks ago. It went very well.

Due to change in circumstances, she started a bigger daycare 3 weeks ago. She has been very sad ever since :(.

She has always been a light sleeper. Her teacher complains that she does not take the 2 hr mandatory nap and wakes up the other kids. This and one or the other type of complaint each day.

She has settled in every other way in the daycare, all but sleeping. Yesterday, her daycare "informed" me [not asked] that they are moving her to 2 year olds classroom since they don't think she is ready for 3 year olds classroom.

My daughter cries endlessly at home and is very cranky [she was a very happy kid before]. She says she doesn't like school and everyone scolds her in the school.

What should I do? Try a new daycare? Or should I let her go to the 2 year olds classroom and try it out for a few more weeks?

My 7 week old is constantly passing gas with a foul odor. I jokingly say she smells like an old man. We switched her formula to soy at the advice of her pediatrician and it's still going on. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what is the cause if any. Is there reason for concern?
