Can anyone give me any help on how to manage a small birthday party in a family restaurant. This restaurant does offer a kids package for birthday parties and is geared towards kids but I am so worried about what to do before the meal and before the cake ...Any ideas?

Help Now I am really getting worried! Here is the full situation. We now live in a small town with not too many options. I have been living here only 3 years and I come from a big city where there are lots of options. My son went to his best friends birthday party at this restaurant (Jungle Jims) last year ....but I am starting to change my mine.....I could have it Sobeys which offers a room and some catering and invite a couple of my friends with their kids to help me? What do you think is best? This is a small town where everyone knows everyone..but as I am pretty new here I want to make a good impression.

I think you must be much braver than I am!!!! 8 year old boys in a restaurant!!!

Have you looked into your local YMCA for a pool party? We are having my son's 7Th birthday party there. I could not believe the cost! It was so inexpensive. Ours even provides the cake and juice.

If your are already locked into the restaurant maybe some quietish games if you have booked a party room. Maybe a kid version of the toilet paper game, (how many squares tall is the party boy?). Dropping a paperclip into a 2 liter bottle?

If you are at a table and sharing a dining room with other guests, good luck.

You could also call the restaurant and ask what they suggest.

Good luck.

I hate to be the unfavourable guy or woman right here, yet slip and slides are risky. you may destroy your neck on them in case you slide incorrect, purely like human beings enjoying baseball and softball can. in case you desire a water interest, get a splash inflatable pool it is approximately 2 or 3 foot deep (expenditures approximately $20 to $50 greenbacks based upon the place you purchase it) and enable them to splash around in it, supervised, of direction.

I have a 8 year old myself and I honestly can not imagine any restaurant I would have his party at unless there was a huge mouse singing to him...

I'm thinking miniature golf or bowling would be more fun for the boys, with hot dogs or pizza... and cupcakes for dessert.

Why would you set yourself up for this misery? 8-year olds don't want to spend time in a family restaurant.. especially if there's more than one of them...
