Hey,
I've had Asthma since Birth but through the years and my body growing it's almost gone away.
I have it only when I have to run long distances but I only have to pause for about 30sec and then I'm good again...
I can run really fast and I can walk really far (Record is 150km)...

So I signed up for the National Guard in April and still have to get some stuff taken care of paper-wise which gives me enough time to get into to shape... But what if the Doc realizes that I have Asthma? Which he probably will...
Is it wise to go into the Army with Asthma even if it's just that little?
And is it even possible to get into the Army with Asthma?

I read that it's a disqualifier if you have it while joining up but they can't kick you out if you get while in the Army...
However I have read story's about even Marines signing up and having Asthma...

The Army is something I desperatly want.
Something meaningful in my life finally!

I was told just today by a marine, that because I'm against the war, I do not support the troops. I am the wife of an infantryman in the army, who is currently deployed in Baghdad, and my argument was that I support the troops, because I support my husband, and all the men over there who are noble and good like him. It has nothing to do with whether I believe in the war in Iraq or not.

Do you agree? Or I am really that unpatriotic?

Im 21 years old and have been going to school for almost 4 years now. I havent done much with my life thus far thinking that id fall into my little niche eventually. I started college at 18 with a technical college then onto a private college for a semester and went to a community college for more of a variety of classes. I still havent decided what to do with my life and feel like im just wasting it. People tell me im intelligent but lazy and unmotivated. I figure if i got a guy yellin at me all day i might be able to get somewhere in life. Advice? yeas or nays?

starting out. he is looking at houses that are like $180,000 . do you ever get that much in the air force. and if you do at what rank, and how many years. this kid thinks he is going to be rich and stuff , and it annoys me. he think he is getting all this money and its getting annoying ., and i just want to tell him the real deal.

someone i know has been in the army (national gaurd). he served in kosovo for 2 years now. he told me that all together he has to serve 11 years.

what i have gathered is he is suppose to get 2 years off after he has served 2 years.

my question is does he get the CHOICE to stay in kosovo for 2 years (that he would have gotten to take off) or to get to go home for 2 years. then return?

i hope this wasn't confusing.

thanks in advance

I know there is a sign that says trespassers can be shot, but has it actually happened or is just a scare tactic?

For every "One"combat soldier there are "8" people in the rear with the gear. (Rear Echelon Military Forces".) Isn't the ratio a little high?

I now wear mine in Sadness,More so with this futile war going on in Iraq ect. (there was no need for it.) I used to be Proud to wear it, more so when finally the Merchant navy men were reconised,(my late dad did his stint in the Korean war.) But now i see a poppy and it tinged with lot of sadness for our young lads who lives have been wasted in todays world.
How do you wear yours?

I'm not looking for opinions on the conflict, but what countries would do what if the US used force on Iran. Iran's leader makes it seem like the US is alone in wanting to dismantle the Iranian Nuclear Program, and that it's "safe" from US attack. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071026/ap_o...

But obviously Israel would be right there alongside the US entering Iran. But what would other countries do? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071026/ap_o...
Would Europe help the US with an invasion? Britain probably would, but what about any of the others? Would Russia actually come down and fight against the US, Israel, and part of Europe with Iran over there new puppet Iran? Would the new tension with Russia and the EU/the US over missile defense have any weight in the issue?

Not looking for a direct answer to each question, just basically, how would the world react?

I am considering joining the Air Force. Before I do, I need to know from people who are there, whether or not you think this is a good move. I just don't want to feel like I've wasted 4 years of my life, doing something that will not benefit me in the long run.

First of all, it seems like the USAF is mostly for people seeking a technical career. I want a degree in English and I am minoring in film. I know the Air Force will pay 100% for my education and also that they will give me money when I leave if I sign up for the GI bill. I need to know what field pays well when you leave and is in high demand and what jobs are good for women to succeed at after leaving, if you are only there for a short period of time. I may stay longer if I like it, Most people seem to enjoy it and benefit from it alot. I am currently 24, so when I get out, I'll be 28. Most people go straight out of highschool. Do you think this may be for me? I was going for financial and educational reasons.
