At present, no. Just because GWB and his advisers do not like how a country is run does not justify an attack."But", you say, "Iran is developing nuclear weapons". May be but then Iraq "had WMDs" and that was proven a lie and even if true how dare the US, with the worlds largest supply of WMD and the history as the only country to have used a nuclear weapon, possible be critical of a country developing WMD - what makes them think they are right and everyone else
wrong? Boils my buns.....
Edit to Diamond: Iraq and Iran are two different countries. I know it seems petty to you but it matters to the millions who live there. Hope your fiance comes back safe and sound.

Iran not following internation law and being warned again and again by the U.N. would mean they started the war. But, it won't come to that, they just want people to know they are still a country and probably the most dominating country in the middle east. If we ever started a war with them I think we should be fair about it and just send Texas or West Virginia or another State after them.

Lets see... The United State is a democratic republic governed by laws and not men, Iran is a dictatorship that follows radical religious law. Most countries in Europe do not have nuclear weapons, exceptions; France and England. Germany has access to ours but the rest do not. So you are wrong again.
If a man threatens your life or your families life do have to let him load the gun, point it at you, and pull the trigger before you react? Don't mention police, we are the police! At what point do you believe in self defense?

Iran is an extremely corrupt country and badly needs democracy. America coming in and bombing the country is hardly a good way of bringing that about. Surely everyone can see that they failed the first time they tried that in Iraq! Bush has no excuse to start meaningless wars just because he's mentally challenged.

i does no longer positioned something previous a liberal president A liberal president kennedy planned operation Northwoods - a faux attack against florda, to justify invading Cuba decrease back in 1961 - they only under no circumstances carried it out A liberal president Johnson had his Gulf of Tonkin incident that under no circumstances occured, to justify invading vietnam 2. thats why liberals have been so rapid to declare 911 became an interior activity, simply by fact it quite is something they could do and function completed interior the previous. Liberals in basic terms assume every person to be a immoral as they are.

is it right and justified for Iran to sit there and tell lies to the international community? do you have proof that it is truly a peaceful program? besides Iran does have a military program have you not seen the news when there elite Republican guards are shown? that is a military program.
it is easy to justify going to war with them you just say you want to and do it, there it is justification. whether or not that is right or not is open to debate.

If a country is vowing to take you and your ally off the map, I would say it's justified to take action when that same country is trying to get weapons that could complete that task.
But we will wait until Iran obtains a Nuclear Warhead or comes close to it at least, that way we will have the world's support and assistance.

If Hillary is elected, she will want to hug, kiss and make up. I understand this is an anti war question, but peaceful resolution to preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons has failed. I believe once Iran goes nuclear, that country will start a war. So which is the lesser of the two evils? A conventional bomb or a nuclear bomb?

Yes. I think the whole world is at threat when we talk about Iran. If Israel does not do anything about Iran making a nuclear bomb, world war 3 would emerge. Iran's government is evil. I have nothing against the people.

U.S. start a war? How about restating the question. Is it right and justified for Iran to start a war with America?
They've been told to cease and desist with nuclear proliferation of arms by the world but insist on continuing with an obvious program to develop nukes. There is no reason, whatsoever, for Iran to have nukes except for world domination that includes the destruction of Israel. No other reason. Yet they continue to follow the path of nuclear warfare. Just take a look on news links at their recent "parade" using a swastika on an American flag to display their arrogance to instigating a war. Just listen to their idiot "leader" speak on the subject of the Holocaust. Listen to his saber rattling against this country day after day. Watch the people disappearing everyday, being hung everyday, being oppressed everyday, because of their disagreement to what is happening to their beloved country under a fanatic dictator.
One of two things is sure to happen. The people of Iran will realized they have a total lunatic in charge of them and kick his Nazi butt out of power. Or he will continue to instigate war towards the Americans by developing nuclear weapons and we WILL kick his Nazi butt out of power.
I worked in Iran for a long time during the Shah's regime and I left with a feeling of respect and friendliness with the people of Iran. I remember walking on the streets of Teheran, Bander Abbas and other cities of Iran without fear, enjoying our interaction friendship with the people. I also remember the populace did the same, operating businesses without oppression as they adopted some western cultures to achieve a better life while still maintaining devout belief and respect to their religion.
I truly believe that core of peaceful people still exists and they must rise up and realize what their lunatic is doing to the country before it is destroyed by inevitable internal strife. But before that happens if the nuclear arms attempt continues, war will occur and there will be no winners. Only unnecessary death and destruction caused to a former great nation by insanity of the idiot in charge of Iran today.
