Asides from good grades and being physically fit, I also am an active member of FBLA, student council, and chess club.

USMA prefers people with leadership positions within these clubs, but in my school you really have to be outstanding. (Like having a 4.0 gpa and absolute commitment, aside from being substantially popular)

What do you suggest I start doing? (Currently in 10th grade)

I am currently an E-4 in the US Navy Reserves. I was prior active duty from 1995 until 1999 then went to school at Southern Illinois University. While I was a sophomore at SIU I joined the reserves and then I was called up immediatly after September 11th, 2001 and did security in Bahrain. After nine months, I was immobilized and came back to SIU, quit the reserves and graduated in 2004. I love the military and I went back to the reserves in 2006. Tried to become officer...they told me "no room" and told me go enlisted instead and stay committed. I was committed and I was I just found out last week I cannot compete with others with my 2.6 GPA and wrong degree. So criteria in the navy reserves officer program is high, I guess. I looked into national guard and air national guard (and army reserves)...but they say you need to enlist first. Is this true? Is it true that becoming an officer is all political? I don't want to re-enlist. I want to be a mustang. HELP ME!!

My best friend of about 5 years became a marine back in 04. Hes been on 1 tour in Iraq and is currently in Japan. He told me about 2 weeks ago that they told him they're probally sending him back to Iraq again. He wants to go. He says he wants to be with his brothers fighting. He called me today really drunk and half asleep. I couldn't understand him too well, he was sluring really bad. This is what I managed to understand. He told me that while he was in Iraq, a friend of his asked to borrow his humvee and he said yes. The Humvee got blown up with his friend in it. I heard his voice start breaking and he kept saying, "It's my fault. I should've told him no. I'm the one who should be dead." I was speechless. He told me he wanted to keep drinking I told him to go to bed because it was 3am where he was at. He didnt want to. I managed to keep him on the phone long enough to where I heard him start snoring. Once i knew he was asleep i hung up. . What do you say in a situation like that?

If a war with Iran doesn't go nuclear it could possibly make world war 1 and world war 2 look like a walk in park.

Just like the experts say, Vietnam was a proxy war fought in a small foreign country because of the great differences of the superpowers. The superpowers know that they don't want war in their own country and they also don't want to destroy the world, so they fight out these smaller by comparison wars. Isn't this actually another showdown of power with our friends the Russians again?

You guys can read, right?

There is little evidence of the government of Iran directly hurting our troops in Iraq (feel free to provide some if you came across any), only allegations, but even so, if we bomb Iran there will be retaliation. They will send bombs (not nuclear, they are years away from even the prospect of capability of nuclear weapon production) to Israel, and can target any spot on that country. Our soldiers in Iraq will be directly targeted and then all of the Iranian citizens who oppose their government now and don't despise America, will unite with their military theocracy against us. And let's see, tens, if not hundreds of thousands will die. Withing six months to under a year, the nuclear energy technology will be back up unless we round up all the nuclear scientists.

So, would bombing not cause more trouble and instability, than diplomacy?
