No , i am not joining for the pay.

Say a private in basic is suppose to get paid " 1301.40 $ "

Does that mean he will get around $650 dollars twice a month?
I am sure i am probably wrong, so please explain how it works, and how much exactly does the person gets paid, after taxes, and everything else is taken out. thanks

My husband is in dispersing in the USMC. He said that one of the pay days is usually about 50-60 bucks more. Say 1301.40 is your basic pay. You also have taxes that come out, both state and federal, your GI bill, meal program, etc. You may actually have more deducted from your pay when you are in basic than afterwards. What is left monthly after the deductions is dispersed the 1 and 15 of every month, unless it falls on a holiday or sunday. One of those days will usually be a little bigger like I said, but it is not definite which one if any...welcome to the world of military pay...always messed up...

My SO is in 3rd month of enlistment. Base pay (army) for e-1 under 4 months is 1203.90 and pay is approx $450 on the 1st and $550 on the 15th after deductions (NV resident, no state tax deduction). Others are right about GIBill, Fed tax, FICA-SS and FICA-Medicare deductions. You lose $100 on the 1st of every month due to GIBill deduction. After 4 months, pay goes up $100 a month. Hope that helps. From what I have been told, the GIBill deduction is for the first 12 months only.

I have been out for 14 years but my pay was about 1,000 a month when I got out. I would say you are close to correct on amount. As for being paid at whats called mid month it should be half of what you would make for a full month. I don't know how much they will take out for taxes and things. Good luck though

It gained;t ensue. it quite is in basic terms standard politicking! prefer to decrease the deficit? Then screw the armed forces. It happens every time the funds comes up. Pay could nicely be at the back of schedule an afternoon or 2? plausible? yet a pair months? which will in no way ensue. it quite is extremely not likely they gained't receives a commission. basically non-mandatory government amenities could stop if a funds isn't surpassed. If basically our legislators has 5 % of the braveness your husband has, what a spectacular international it may be stop hectic. armed forces people and their households vote, too, and no flesh presser with an ouncesof brains could forget approximately that.

NO. taxes will come out, SGLI comes out, GI Bill comes out. plus the initial issue of non uniform items comes out. more Like $400-500/ pay period once things settle down after Basic training.

Taxes will depend on your state and local income tax regs.

well it all depends, you get the normal taxes taken out and then if you come from a state that pays state tax, you get that too.

i come from washington state, so no state taxes.

next you have the question of if you are married or not.

if so, youll get BAH, or youll get on post housing. The amount you get for BAH will all depend on where you are living.

now, if you are deployed, you make your money tax free as well as get hostile fire pay.

and again, if you are married, you get family sep. as well.

you also can get other haz duty pay like jump pay or flight pay if you are on status.

Consider yourself lucky. When I was in the Marines, I got paid $412.00 a month but then, that was 30 years ago.
