Hey,
I've had Asthma since Birth but through the years and my body growing it's almost gone away.
I have it only when I have to run long distances but I only have to pause for about 30sec and then I'm good again...
I can run really fast and I can walk really far (Record is 150km)...

So I signed up for the National Guard in April and still have to get some stuff taken care of paper-wise which gives me enough time to get into to shape... But what if the Doc realizes that I have Asthma? Which he probably will...
Is it wise to go into the Army with Asthma even if it's just that little?
And is it even possible to get into the Army with Asthma?

I read that it's a disqualifier if you have it while joining up but they can't kick you out if you get while in the Army...
However I have read story's about even Marines signing up and having Asthma...

The Army is something I desperatly want.
Something meaningful in my life finally!

Hey, I have a question. My husband deployed to Iraq about 2 1/2 months ago. He'll be home Spring of '08. I have been going through some kind of depression. I sleep all the time. Sometimes I just take a tylenol pm in the middle of the day because I can't take that day anymore. Other days, i'm happy (well as happy as I could be) and can get through the day just fine. I get to talk to my husband every couple days but he doesn't know I feel this way. I don't want him to worry because I cry myself to sleep at least 3 times a week. I'm just sad because I miss him so much. I'm scared if I go talk to a Dr (on base) they'll think I'm crazy or something & it's not even like that. I have a full time job, so I'm not sitting home all the time or anything. I just am tired of feeling so empty & even after sleeping in excess of 10-13 hours, I just want to go back to bed. or there are days where I can't sleep at all What should I do? What will the Dr do if i tell them im depressed? I AM NOT SUICIDAL!!!

I thought basic was only 9 weeks. Why is my husband going for 13?

On the internet it states that the AIT training for a Petroleum Supply Specialist is only 8 weeks. Why does his paperwork say 16 weeks?

When do the checks come in for him being on active duty? Is it the end of the month? Do they take a long time to start paying or is it a immediate thing?

How much more would we get if he is married and I am considered a dependent?

Please Help! Thanks!

After receiving several deferments as a student during the Vietnam War, Giuliani applied for an occupational deferment as a law clerk, but his application was rejected. Giuliani appealed the decision, and asked the federal judge he was clerking for to petition the draft board for him.

During his 1993 mayoral campaign, Giuliani's own paid consultants reported the following as part of a "vulnerability study":

"Giuliani received special treatment from a friendly federal judge to avoid military service during the Vietnam war, when thousands of less fortunate people were dying. Then, as a member of the Justice Department, he hypocritically prosecuted draft dodgers."

thanks to a backstabbing friend of your wife's. he is barred from re-enlistment. and to top it all off, she still hangs out with her. all they do is create more drama. i can't look at her without being disgusted, she doesn't understand the concept of standing behind her husband. i can't get into specific details, but my problem is this: i can't look at him without thinking he's a complete jackass and he can't control his family. if he did, he wouldn't be in the mess he's in now. i can't be anymore blunt than i have already been and there isn't anything else i can say. i don't think i be friends with them anymore. it's not positive, but i still feel bad. am i doing the right thing?

p.s. for all you vets and AD, i can say that it's a eval thing that caused the bar, then you should get the point
