I thought basic was only 9 weeks. Why is my husband going for 13?

On the internet it states that the AIT training for a Petroleum Supply Specialist is only 8 weeks. Why does his paperwork say 16 weeks?

When do the checks come in for him being on active duty? Is it the end of the month? Do they take a long time to start paying or is it a immediate thing?

How much more would we get if he is married and I am considered a dependent?

Please Help! Thanks!

Clarify the number of days for training on the Training Officer. The checks for payments are issued twice a month from the start of training.

Job training for a Petroleum Supply Specialist consists of nine weeks of Basic Training (not including Reception week), where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and approximately eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Pay is more difficult to figure out. While attending Basic and AIT, he'll be paid the same as active duty soldiers.

National guard paychecks are once a month at the end of the month.

There is no extra pay for being married.

Active duty married soldiers collect BAS and BAH, ( food and housing).

But National Guard soldiers, aren't eligible for either.

If your married now before he leaves for Basic training,

You would receive and extra $279 BAS and around $600 a month for housing, depending on where you currently live, while he is in Basic and AIT.

But the BAS and Housing will stop, as soon as he is out of AIT and reports to his National Guard unit.

His pay in the National Guard after AIT, will be $173.52 a month.

While he is in Basic training and AIT, it will be $1,301 a month.

If he has direct deposit, he will be paid on the 15th and 30th each month while in basic and AIT.

While on active duty for 30 days or more, guardsmen are paid twice a month on the 1st and 15th. You will also be eligible for extra pay for housing and food and will be paid more being married than if he was single. When you start getting paid depends on when will be the next pay period after the day he goes to MEPS to leave for basic. Sometimes the orders will be dated longer than what it really is in case for some reason he is recycled and has to restart his training.

i dont know everything about the gaurd, but most branches get paid twice a month, my husband is the 1 & 15th. I am a dependant as a wife, just as your children would be. i know in the Marines spouse pay depends on rank, and where you live, as in your cost of living money. you best bet would be for your husband to talk to his recruiter. I know in the Marines they get paid during basic training, but it isnt much. As for his paper work, if there is an issure or error he needs to address it ASAP!!
