Well said Just V. This is just an attempt by someone without military ties attempting to create the Anti-Bush crap. We all know in the military that the Fiscal year budget for 2008 has already been approved. The biggest concern should not be Cola or BHA cuts as much as the possible tax increases we will face for 2010. Most of these troublemakers fail to realize that we military pay the same taxes as anyone else.

1. Yes the COLA was reduced at least here in Korea over OCT-NOV 07 lower COLA rates are being phased in. 2 points on 1 OCT and 2 more points on 1 NOV for a total 4 point decrease in COLA for fiscal year 08.(1OCT07-30SEP08)
2. As far as Bush cutting my COLA I am quite sure he has many much more important things to worry about. The fact that you would try to "blame Bush" shows that you are one of two things:1.) A liberal 2.) a fool. I would actually guess both since the two usually go hand in hand.
3.The COLA rate is based on a mathematical formula comparing the price of a list of commonly purchased items in the US and the overseas country.
4. COLA is designed to give american military overseas the same spending power they would have if they were stationed CONUS. Yes the dollar is declining on the world markets thereby raising the price for goods bought on the economy overseas however the prices are rising in America even faster hence the decrease in COLA.

COLA changes weekly. it will rise and fall according to how strong the Dollar is against the local currency. Bush has squat to do with that.
