Truthfully, the average American might think about Great Britian once a year.

Americans spend far less time, talking or thinking about other countries, than those countries citizens, spend talking about America.

What goes on in Britian, just isn't important to most Americans daily lives.

I think most American's consider Britian as our little brother. If something were to go down, we could always count on eachother, just like the past 200 years. Speaking the same language puts the two countries at a huge advantage over any other two countries in the world.

Firstly, there is no such thing as the average American (that would be rather like describing someone as an average European). However, I do think most educated Americans have an affinity with GB. After all, that is where many of their ancestors came from and it was also the heritage of the ruling classes after the Revolution.

i dont know what an average american is. however many americans have ancestry of british origins. we have also stood shoulder to shoulder through two world wars which freed most of europe and asia, and we are currently together in fighting possibly the greatest threat to ourselves ever, wich is the war against terrorism. long may our special relationship endure

I consider myself average and believe we have a very close relationship with the UK, Canada, and Australia.
