Where? In a restaurant owned by an Iraqi family. What happened? He (Marine walked into the Restaurant) and was sitting down when an Iraqi waitress walked up to him and said "May I take your order". She smiled and said it again "May I take your order". The Marine's mouth started to quiver and his eys welled up with enough fluid to fill a lake and the Marine put his head down and cried like a baby. Why did the Marine do that? ( Note: Between sobs we heard him say "Why George"? Why?)

I said I am practicing to laugh at the war supporters when we lose the war in Iraq. He said OHHH!!! Then he started to laugh and I said "Welcome aboard"!"

My fiance and I are about to get married. He has been in the army for five years. We've been together for six months and I don't know much about the army life. What can I expect? What are some advantages and disadvantages? I keep watching that new show Army Wives, but thats only making me more nervous! Any advice?

Hamas has made their position very clear about Israel can never be recognised and must be destroyed completely by any means necessary. Fatah "seems" a little more refined which is one reason they are dangerous because they are more subtle and diplomatic in their terrorism. Who is worse, the enemy that openly declares themselves as one or the enemy that will shake your hand and kiss your cheek? Why?

I mean think about it. God is causing and allowing mankind to fight each other because he is too big a coward to come out of his hiding and say "I AM" and allow us to praise the one and only true God. Presently the world is filled with religious morons that are following their belief and condeming others for their religions because they do not follow the same God. Well how can anyone follow a God that would allow the suffering of humans, corrupt thir way of thinking, and threaten them (us) with eternal consequences just because we did not believe what other men had told us centuries before about what they had witnessed. If I would have landed in a hot air balloon in the time of Jesus Christ, do you not think that the people would have called me God, much like the Hawaiian called Captain Cook God when he came to the islands? This God of yours is more an antagonist than a LOVING Being because he will allow us to shoot each others sons a&daughters while losing our own to prove WHAT??

Excluding veterans (who have proven themselves), why does it seem there are so many people `talking the talk', but they are not over in Iraq `walking the walk', and fighting the war which they claim they so much believe in? If they truly believe that the primary reason the US is in Iraq is to fight terrorism, why aren't all these pro-war people over there fighting it? Why are there so many people in our country that expect OTHER people to step in front of bullets for them. If the Iraq war was a worthy cause of world freedom, instead of the greed driven, religious revenge, absolute fiasco that it is, I would be the first one over there. I would certainly never expect someone else to risk their life for me, unless I were right there fighting beside them.

America pulled out of Vietnam, Vietnam became communist and remains communist. American casulties were massive as was the cost of the war. America lost the war, yet i still see in forums and even in some answers on this site Americans claiming that they never lost that war?

Will that be when the overwhelmingly democratically-elected (per Bush recipe) Anti-American Shiite Islamic Jihad government finally assumes power in a secure sovereign theocracy?

Or do you have a different vision of how Bush's war objectives will be realized?

I am not making excuses for anybody here.

But wouldn't the Islamic Jihad, Al qaeda and the like be stupid, from a military point of view, to try to confront the American military on a conventional field of battle?
Isn't hit & run, ambush, terrorism, anonymity etc. a more logical choice for them?

It appears to me that the USA/Pentagon learned nothing from Vietnam. They don't seem to have recognized that the same style of warfare they are facing in Iraq, defeated them 35 years ago, and is failing them today.

I am asking because my childs father has been telling people he's going into the army. I seriously doubt that is true, but was curious if being extremely behind would be ruled as dishonorable.
