America has hundreds of Medal of Honor recipients. Every single one of them is a hero with an incredible story of sacrifice, duty, and undying adherence to the Code of Conduct. Read the stories of men such as James Stockdale and Lance Sijan and you will see. What are some of the baddest, most unbelievable, most HUA, Hooah, Hoorah, or Hooyah Medal of Honor stories you have heard and can vouch for? What are some stories that trully epitomize the spirit and honor of the American fighting man and woman?

We all now what attrocities the American forces commited in Vietnam, attrocities which are still having an effect in Vietnam, nothing, or not enough was done about it.
Yet the US has helped and allowed for Sadam to be hung for very similar crimes.
This is certainly hypercritical, does the fact that Sadam was a muslim arab have anything to do with it, or are the Americans merely above law and morality.

I've been having problems with my knees and my back for years now. I've been trying to get seen by military doctors but they all tell me to suck it up. one even laughed at me. I tried to see a civilian doctor but i was not allowed. Then one day my pay stopped and nobody knew why. instead of helping me get it fixed, they decided to have a cookout. I've been in almost ten years now and have seen a lot of crap, but this total disregard for my well being was the last straw. I went to every authority I could, but finally I just left. I've been working fairly steadily but i'm not familiar with being awol, especially after being in so long. can anyone tell me what to expect. and please no pro army suck it up and drive on answers. thanks

Lies I was told in school, Custers last stand, that has been taught in American schools that the troopers form a defense line and fought to the death. Historians went to the site of the battle with medal detectors and found by rifle brass that the troopers did not died as depicted in the Army's version of the last stand. by following the path of firing pin mark on the brass following the path of individuals. At the battle of the Alamo, everyone was killed and Mexican history states that Jim Bowie was found hiding under a pile of bedding, No survivors to tell the true facts. Ira Hays was among those paraded around the States as a war hero, for the flag raising on Mount Sarabachi on Iwo Jima. There was an actual flag raising, the picture that we know was a reenactment set up for the news media, Ira died on the Pima reservation from the shame he felt, thinking in his mind that he was not a war hero. The media attemtped to do the same with Jessica Lynch, to her credit she rejected it.

combat this? I am for the war over there, but it seems like its been impossible to stop. I am sure, or I would hope, that our strategies have evolved and changed constantly to fight this type of cowardly enemy. But apperently nothing is working so far. What if anything do you think could be done to take on this situation? I do not want to get political here. If you want to talk politics and what not go somewhere else.

Looking back at the conflict, the US had overwhelming military superiority and failed to win the war. How could the US have employed different military strategy and tactics to have changed the result? Let's ignore the motivation of each side, militarily, what changes could have won the war for the US?

This ties in with a question I still have running...

Some neutrals banked money for countries involved in war, and even allowed them to store their treasures in their banks.

Others allowed troops across their land knowing the purpose was to get to the enemy.

Of course these countries had little defence had they refused.

Also, our troops were a given safe house in these countries, when they were escaping the enemy, and many found their way safely home because of that.

PLEASE REMEMBERI AM NOT JUDGING I am trying to understand how it all fits together.

i live in a different country and i always see soldiers making fools out of them selfs and the rest of us americans when they are out and about, i know they get briefed about this by their commanders and yet nothing changes, why is that? should the commander be held responsible? i mean after all ,the commanders try to pass the buck onto the nco in charge of the troops, why is it not their responsibility to teach these young soldiers how to act?

First I am sure that I can speak on behalf of everyone in the UK in saying "We are deeply saddened by yesterday's news of the losses, that our thoughts and prayers are with their families, as well as of all the fallen soldiers, who died bravely serving their country".

Yesterday's deaths bring the total number of British military fatalities since the hostilities in Iraq began to 156. So with a new Government how do members of the public see the way foward.

Your chance to give various options and stages of what you think the way forward is. By 9am tomorrow morning we will give 10 points to the most realistic answer. Please do not swear or give racist comments, also remember it is easy to criticise the past, however much harder to give real constructive input for the way forward, which surely is where we now need to go?
