Area 51 is a US government-controlled area, heavily guarded with severe penalties for trespass. So yes, Area 51 is real.
As for what goes on there, or has gone on there in the past, I believe that, yes, they may have had alien technology there to study but that will have been decades ago. Any current research being done, be it alien autopsies of reverse engineering of alien craft, will more than likely now be underway at a quieter, less visible location. This is because Area 51 has become synonymous with alien research and, by keeping it as a high security site, this helps to draw the attention away from other areas where research can be undertaken without the possibility of detection.

Area 51 has been closed, and Moved to Another Secret Location.
I have no proof of Alien Contact, or Alien Craft being hidden at the former Area 51. But, I suspect that such a possibility did exist, and may still exist at the New Secret Location!
I believe that We can not be the Only Intelligent Beings in all the known Galaxies !

You are permitted to drive past it, and you can look at it on Google Earth and you can drive as close as the perimeter fence (you need a big SUV). But like most military establishments, you can't get too close.
Undoubtedly it's a test facility for high-tech weaponry and aircraft (it's not a state secret that the stealth fighter was tested there) and it would be odd - given it's isolation, if it were not.
I think the question has confused or conflated Area 51 (which I've driven past) and aliens, which I have not.
I'm sure that somewhere out there, far, far away there is intelligent life. Statistically that's overwhelmingly likely.
However, think of the resources and energy alien life forms would need to expend to travel the mind-boggling distances from there to here.
Having done all that, are they really going to appear to some redneck from deepest darkest Hicksville, and then fly away?
Would they not head for a populated area and see what there is to see?
How do they know the reaction they'd get? Do we know what our reaction would be?
Anyway, they're in a super high-tech craft and I doubt if they'd be tow concerned about us, who must be the intelligence equivalent of a crab to them.
The US Government can't keep anythign secret. the realistci prospect of aliens having made direct or indirect contact with the US Government and it not to have leaked out is a close to nil as makes no difference.
There may well be ET's somewhere out there.
Is there any proof they visited us, ever? None whatsoever (apart from in our own imaginations and wish-fulfillment)..

Area 51 is part of the Nellis Air force Range and lies within the Nevada Test and Training Range in the south-western part of Lincoln County, Nevada.
Area 51’s correct designation is the Air Force Flight Test Canter, D3, on original US Department of Energy maps the area around Groom Lake was marked Area 51, but this usage discontinued in the mid 50’s when the area around the lake was converted to test and evaluate captured Soviet aircraft.
Over the years the US DOD has used the base to test secret aircraft including, but not limited to, the U2 Spy plane, Blackbird, F-117 and most recently the F-22 Raptor.
There are 4 paved runways and 2 sand runways on the site; one of the paved runways (O3R-21L at 10,000ft) is amongst the longest in the world (RAF/USAF Diego Garcia at 12,000ft, RAF Machrihanish at 10,003ft, RAF Boscome Down at 10,921ft being the others)
If there are aliens there then as yet no one really knows, though after being detatched ther on a joint UK/US training exercise in 96 I very much doubt it.

The fact that Area 51 exists is really not up for debate. It does exist.
Are there aliens there? Who knows. Seems like sort of an obvious place to keep them in this day and age. For all we know the base exists for various Top Secret research projects and to server as a distraction from where the really secret stuff is going on. The military owns property all over the place. The US Navy does classified things at an island in the Aleutians, etc. Area 51 may only exist to keep your attention focused there. If so, they're succeeding.

If I said I were an alien kept against my will at "Area 51"...Would you get a laugh out of it?
Honestly, I believe in the possibility of intelligent life, STATISTICALLY. C-mon, we are in one little solar system with a couple planets and One of them has life. What's that 1 out of 10 now? Now how many planets are there out there in COUNTLESS solar systems? The masses are just worried about all the stuff going down already on this planet. ALIENS! would be unbearable and people would lose their minds. So "Naw, there's no such thing as ALIENS!. There is NO INTELLIGENT LIFE (including ourselves of course)."
You have a wounderful journey into the un-disclosed my friend. Do come again soon.

There is an Area 51. It is a highly guarded base. It has not much to do with aliens, but they do research there and some of the research could be viewed as being about aliens. If you would like to know more go to this web site www.ufomind.com/area51

yes and no, what people call aria 51 does exist, it has the longest runway on earth (or did at one time) you can even see it from google earth, no kidding, there was highly classified flight tests going on there, a guy by the name of something Lazar, claimed he was sent there to back engineer an alien craft and that's where the whole rumor came from,
aria 51 is a made up name for a real facility, finding the sight was bad enough for the military, but they whee not going to say "no that's not a place with aliens" "that where we are developing the next spy plane to observe Russian nuclear launch sights" so what they say is "there is no such thing as aria 51" which is true and "we have no evidence of alien beings" which it also true and vague enough

I am not sure about the ETs there but there does seem to be enough intelligent people who believe we are back engineering UFOs. Nothing is impossible. Whether top secret weapons and aircraft or ETs Area 51 does exist and is a place one is not allowed to get near let alone inside of it.
If someone confirmed the existance of UFOs and ETs at that base or anywhere else I would not be shocked or surprised even.

Area 51 at one time was a test site for secret aircraft. Now because of the publicity it was pretty much used as a toxic waste dump where they burned garbage. (Military's denial of the base got them in big trouble when workers were reporting their actions to the EPA.) So, it is not exactly a good secret base if the world knows its existence.
