hello everyone, i am from Basrah which lies in the south of Iraq, we have British troops here but when i watch news i can see that other places in Iraq are better than Basrah while they were very dangerous and we were better than them, but everything is different now, British Army are making a slow progress, so why don't the US troops come to the south, we need them now! we need brave soldiers to come here!

Sara, thank you for helping the troops to help you despite the threats from the terrorists. Please continue to do so but be careful.

It is important that the Shi'a-Sunni violence end. It is perpetuated by Al-Qaeda to force the Shi'a to respond in kind. It is destroying Iraqis and peace.

The brits are good soldiers also. Help them help you when you can. Progress is slowed by our enemies and it only through good citizens like you and your uncles that we can bring peace. That is why the terrorists fear the freedoms and education you're being given.

Don't forget to look up my additional comment to your *resolved* question.

Bless your heart. My family fled Islam in the 1950s when they saw where it was headed. We've been expecting these wars for decades. I was raised non-Islamic, though very much in the Sufi tradition.

Be careful, but be aware. There is a revolution going on in Islam, one that is meant to force a change that will cause Islam to embrace freedom and religious tolerance. Once that happens, Islam will flower again.

We'll be cheering in the streets.

It is important that you be alive for it. Be careful.

All our love. I am a patriot and democrat here in the United States. I am hoping you are an Iraqi patriot who puts her country first, not her personal ideology. We need you strong so that when we leave, you can HOLD your country to the freedoms we have shared with you.

You don't have to go our path, our way. That is the beauty of freedom. We may even disagree many times. That is the strength of democratic principles. We will grow, like siblings, together. We are a very young country, unlike Iraq. We look forward to sharing with you, and learning from you.

They will come. Even so, don't be obvious. Be careful, honest, and true to your people and freedom. Know that we are fighting to give you back your country (we don't want it, as that would be wrong) in a way that let's you protect it from those other countries that fear the freedoms you are beginning to enjoy.

You should have seen the terrible conditions WE went through in beginning this country! WOW! Amazing to think how far we've come. We'd love some more competition from a new Iraq!

There's no question in this.

And as for getting our troops-you're going to have to wait your turn. We don't need them in another country right now.

Instead of waiting on the British troops to up the progress, why don't you and your people just start and do it yourselves?

[....no offense]

And our soldiers need brave Iraqi citizens who will not be afraid to point out suspicious activity (i.e. insurgent activity) in their neighborhoods.
Thank you for your support. and hang in there. Only together, as civilized people, in a civilized country, can we hope to rebuild Iraq into a peaceful and prosperous nation.
Be brave, sister!
