I know I don't...It is not fair to force someone to fight in a war if they do not agree with it. Then say well you live here, so fight for the country; what if they wish not to live in the country but cannot leave because they do not have the money to or leave when the draft comes and get arrested for supposedly 'avoiding the draft.'

What if you just do not want to fight in the war? I would most definately opt out.

I think that any sort of draft should only come into play if America were to be directly attacked (invasion), otherwise it is not necissary if one disagrees with the purpose of the specific war in place. It is not right to force a war onto it's people. I would consider this type of event as an indirect suppression.

What are your current beliefs of the "Draft?"

Ok, Lets say for one moment you may be right, they hit back at the US for our foreign policy affecting them, so how do you explain this?

How is American foreign policy responsible for?
The bus and subway bombings in Great Briton,
The train bombings in Spain,
The Muslim youth, burning Paris and a few other places halfway to the ground.
The bombing of the theater in Russia, The bombing of the school in Russia,
The car bombing of the resort at Carmel Sheik in Egypt
The monstrous bombing of the wedding a year or so ago in Jordan
The bombing of the disco in Germany
The bombing of Hindus from Pakistani,
The murders of Christians in Darfor,

Or the other 8702 radical Islam-fascist attacks around the world sense 9/11. How is the American foreign policy to be help responsible for these crimes, See how stupid you claim of guilt is? These butchers do not need a reason, their Caliphate demands the expansion of their ideals, and you had better wake up.

. . . in Iraq so desperately need? At nearly a half-million dollars each, these vehicles with v-shaped hulls, are virtually impervious to I.E.D's---now causing 70 to 80% of the deaths and injuries. Is 500 grand too much to protect the safety and lives on up to 12 soldiers per vehicle? Is the life of an American soldier not worth $40,000 a piece?

When I join the Navy is it 2 years active duty, or 4? I don't care about the reserve stuff afterwards. I would like to serve 2 and get out so I can grow my hair out among other things.

Can anyone tell my any examples of battles that the U.S. was totally outnumbered in , and won? All I can think of is Midway. Ok, it may be cheating to ask, but what is a comuuter for anyway?
Thanks.

I was in Wal-Mart today and there was this older guy that had on his Vietnam veteran hat. So, the cashier asks the guy how long he fought in the war and so forth and the guy behind him says something to the effect of "that war was a crock we had no bussiness being their it reminds me a lot of the war that those assholes (referring to the troops) are fighting right now." I do not support the war in Iraq I have been against it from the very begining but stop the madness. These men and women were willing to risk their lives for his sorry ***. Leave their families, their children behind knowing that they may never return. And he doesnt even appreciate it. You dont have to agree with the war but you can give them moral support, for crying out loud. I had to get that off my chest because its been irking me all day.

This is a sincere question. Please leave politics out of this.

The actual war ended in 2003 with the collapse of the Iraqi government. The currently ongoing conflict has none of the hallmarks of a war. We are not fighting open battles and are not at war with a government. It has all the hallmarks of an occupation (terrorist acts, collaboration with a new government, etc.). Such has happened countless times in the past.

Why do people keep calling it a war?

I finally chose AF out of every branch and now I am reading that they actually don't even travel outside of the US very often. That is what I really want, aside from other things by joining the military. I don't have family or obligations holding me at home, so I want to travel! Do certain job titles allow different travel opportunities? Does anyone know which they are? I actually do not know which career I want to persure, is there a list along with a breakdown of exactly what they are/do/etc? I am very excited to join the military, I just don't know which direction to take, the recruiters only tell me what I want to hear, I wanted personal experience advice. Anything helps!
