Which is more family friendly: Navy or Airforce? I would like an admin job and would obviously prefer a job that keeps me more often than not with my family. I am willing to choose a career based on what will keep me close to my family and probably out of war. Although there are no guarentees which of these brances would help me achieve my goals? I'm very good at all admin and easily learn languages--I'm currently a translator. Thanks for your time and concern!

Have there ever been a shark that attacked a SEAL? I know its rare but sharks are the only thing that makes my idea of SEALs less intriguing. Do SEALs swim in a group? DO wetsuits unattract sharks after they bump you?
Thanks!

I was told yesterday that an incident occurred in Galway, Ireland, at an air show. The door of an helicopter fell off, injuring a civilian, but the helicopter belonged to the Army (Not sure if the details are correct.) However, this is just an example.

Anyway, the question is, if the civilian is the victim, and the Army (as an organisation) is sued by this civilian, is this a case for the civilian courts or the military court martial?

I always thought that courts martial was strictly for internal issues within the army, military for military. If civilians are involved, then it's not a matter for the courts martial, unless it's to do with besmirching the name of the army, or dishonourable behaviour?

If I am wrong, Please enlighten me. Thanks.

Does stop loss typically only apply to those on active duty or is there a widespread problem of involuntary retention even though your 8 years are up?

I recently saw a group of veterans who served in the war in Iraq (as well as Gulf war 1, Vietnam & Korea) who were condemning the war in Iraq, and ridiculing Bush's assinine policies...

Of course many Bible clutching FOX NEWS watching right wing Republican fascists attack the patriotism of any citizen who question the war (unless it's a Republican who questions the war..apparently THAT's okay....)
The soldiers who speak out against the war are true heroes- above all, they realize the greatest freedom we have is freedom of speech..
What do you think of the vets who speak out against the war and Bush? I think they are showing their patriotism by speaking out..

I am in the delayed entry program for the Marines... I have had asthma past 13th bday... (a disqualifying factor) Serving my country is what I want to do. I dont have problems with the asthma now. My recruiter told me to not tell MEPS. Did not, I know the possible punishment if caught. Recruiter said if my asthma resurfaced I'd get a medical discharge. Now... my friend got back from boot camp and told me someone had asthma in the platoon and he WAS allowed medication.., Why and how? Thanks and God Bless

How long will I have to be active, and will I ever be in any combat?

If you complete another active duty tour due to stop loss, is it fairly impossible for the army to retain you on active duty after that. And, if you then go to the reserves, what is the likelyhood you can be called back to active duty?

Thanks.

I am doing a research paper for my summer history class and i wanted to get people's opinions about what they think. King Henry VIII is infamous for his six wives and his beheading of two of them, but did he have a right? They were both accused of adultery, which is punishable by death in this era, but those were only accusations. Also, his divorce from Katherine of Aragon and his formation of the Anglican church, is this justified? If you would please just give me your feedback that would be great, but i might have to use your nickname as a citing. If you do not want me to then please give me your imput anyways because i am not sure if i have to use it.

I have an interview next week with an Army recruiter. I really want to join. It's always been a dream of mine, but my family and friends don't want me to. And now I'm sort of having second thoughts.

Do you think I should join any way?
Or should I wait until I'm older?....
HELP!

Thank you. :)

For all the military people out there: our grandfathers fought WWI; our fathers fought WWII. We all know those were legitimate and fair wars, fought for a just cause. History recognizes those who fought in the trenches as real heroes. Now, knowing that we all were misled into invading Iraq (a country that couldnt even defend itself, with economic santctions, with insepectors on its grounds, with a nofly zone all around its border, etc, etc), how do you feel? Dont you wish to be fighting for a just cause (like Churchil's army, or Roosvelt's warriors) instead of fighting for Bush's, Cheney's, Rummy's and Wolfowitz's little agendas? Do you think history and this country will recognize you as heroes?

I'm turning 18 next year and I don't really want to live the average civilian life, I'd like to have a little excitement at least and do something meaningful, you know, be known for something. Anyways, my mom is really anti war and my dad could care less if i joined. So the only thing holding me back really is my mom, I don't want to disrespect her, but I want to do something with my life still.
