If you're already in you can request it upon re-upping. If you haven't enlisted yet then when you're at MEPS ONLY enlist if they put Airborne school and 82nd in your contract. Don't just give in if they say no. Don't let them pressure you into taking something you don't really want. Its your career and your life...remember that!

I am an 82D veteran. Go to airborne school. Pass. Get an assignment to Ft. Bragg in a MOS that the 82D has. And hope you get picked out of the 19th AG for the 82D. Generally, you cannot get a specific division guaranteed in a contract. You can however get airborne training guaranteed. If you are airborne qualified, and assigned to Ft. Bragg, you have a better then even chance for being selected for the 82D.

Airborne! Im in the 82nd Airborne Division. All I did was when I joined, I had airborne school in my contract, and I got sent to 82nd. There isnt a guarantee but being airborne helps

Get dropped from the 101st Airborne Division, Air Assault Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. We send our second bests to our sister company down South to North Carolina, go figure. Air Assault!!!
