Objectively it would be so easy to say it's role was to provide information so as to promote a better understanding of the problem. Unofrtunately it isn't as cut and dry as it looks. Both sides have their own set of information which of course paints a rosier picture for both sides respectively. In reality it gets the resolution nowhere. Take the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan as an example. Everything is there and they have their own documents for their merits of course but the process is at a standstill.

It does help but it doesn't play a major part in it. Agreements between both parties as well as concessions play an integral part in conflict resolution.

Management of information is important in conflict resolution or conflictology which is the process of attempting to resolve a dispute or a conflict. Successful conflict resolution occurs by listening to and providing opportunities to meet each side's needs, and adequately address their interests so that they are each satisfied with the outcome. Conflict resolution aims to end conflicts before they start or lead to verbal, physical, or legal fighting.
