Hmm, sounds like selective statistics to me. In my experience here at home, it is just the opposite. The parents of soldiers KIA in Iraq are becoming even more adamant that we need to finish the job. the folks joining the "peace" movement are those with no involvement in the military, and no brains in their heads.

Admiral Nimitz during World War 2 used to receive hate mail from the parents of deceased soldiers, sailors and Marines he commanded blaming him for their deaths. It is an understandable but wrong-headed reaction to such a great loss as losing a child in war.
The real culprit is society has converted dying for a noble cause into being a "victim" or "survivor" rather than a veteran or hero.

Let's face it--these parents who lose their soldier children join the anti-war crowd when they realize just how vain the sacrifice was. This war was started on false pretenses and to boot it's been mismanaged from the get-go by someone who's never even seen the first taste of blood spilled in combat!!! Not to mention the government has lied to people about how their children died--does the name Pat Tillman ring a bell? And the dead may actually have it better than the wounded. Soldiers with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome are ignored or ostracised, and even dishonorably discharged for it instead of being helped by the government they volunteered to give their lives to serve!!!! The VA is a horrible terrible joke--even the most conservative Bush-loving element in this country has to admit that.
And you can believe what you want but one can be against this war, and eager for the impeachment of this criminal administration, without being "liberal".

lol you use an old article from a biased source to make your claim?

please find up to date numbers and I might give you some credibility.

Odds are of the 3500 or so families that have lost family to this war only a small percent either openly oppose the war or are active in drives to stop the war.

and honestly that would be expected from any kind of situation like this.

But then again the vast majority will either believe that the loss of their child or family member was a sacrifice for this country, or they will keep their opinions about the war to them selves.

Some percent is always going to be against the war and be vocal about it, even in military families. that's just life, it does not mean their opinions are better or worse than anyone else.

Threee reasons
More often than not, the parents didn't join after their childs death, but when they die the media takes it's chance for easy ratings
Parents are upset, one of the steps in dealing with grief is anger
Stone cold lieing by certain anti-war types (Michael Moore types)

Quite honestly its their right if they want to use the memory of their dead soldier that way. I guess they don't care if they drag it through the mud or use it for their own benefit. I don't remember the last time I saw anyone forcing people to sign up for the service.

I can't believe so many people fell for this false allegation. Only one I know of was that Cindy Sheehan nutcase. I would bet that most familys of the deceased are pro-Bush. The last thing they would want would be to loose a war thier loved ones fought to win.

I don't know that answer and certainly can't draw a valid conclusion from your outdated source of information. 2004? It is human nature for a parent to not want to see there children die before them period, no matter what the cause.

Because they miss their kids and they won't deal with the fact that their children voluntarily enlisted in the military and probably knew (if they joined after a certain date) that they'd be sent off to Iraq.
