If the Navy wanted you to have a bag they'd issue you one...

Here is how it goes down in Navy boot camp, 16 year Navy by-the way. With in 2 days your hair will be shaved, and you will be issued PT gear and other personal items. Then all personal gear that was brought with you is boxed and mailed home. Bring it if you want but you cant keep it long.

won't need it. everything you bring with you will be mailed back to your home of record or locked up where you can't get at it until PIR. everything you need will be provided for you. just bring a backpack with a change of underwear because when you get issued your uniforms, the clothes on your back will be sent back, in a box, with the backpack.

Yes and when you get there they will put it in a box with your civilian stuff and mail it home.
