and age, do any of u think that lets say an amphibious assault at a large stage involving serveral divisions in a heavily defended beach, involving heavy casualties on our forces and having as many as have died in iraq over a four year period happen during the amphbious landing over a 3 week period? my main answer is, can america "stomach" this? would the politicians allow the possibility of very high causalties to say, just to occupy a landing field? i see now that the military operates now in small units. do u think america can "stomach" another iwo jima, with very high causalties over a short period of time, like in weeks, just over an air field? the only country i see that can give us this much opposition is china

I was watching a documentary and they kept mentioning about countries posing a threat to USA. why? why everyone wants to attack USA?

I live in Slovenia and the only war in here was 16 years ago for freedom, to not be a part of communist yugoslavia. and no one threatens us, no one attacks us, nothing (at least I dont know about it). but why is USA always in wars? everyone threatening USA?

nič ni večno. nothing's forever. maybe USA will get peace someday.

Sorry if there's been a post like this before, but I just wanted to give my opinion.

And please, if your going to read it, read all of it.

First off, I support the troops and I love my country (but we can do some stupid stuff.) so don't give me any of that unpatriotic crap.

I don't see why we invaded Iraq. Do you really think the "ruthless" dictator Sadam would want terrorists coming into his country and undermining his government? He would have killed any terrorists on the spot. We needed to invade Afghanistan were we knew there were taliban.

So anyway, we invade Iraq and take down their "horrible government" and know you guys want to leave them without any government at all?! What do think is going to happen to them? Since we took their gov. and way of life style away, (along with all the civilians dead) its our obligation to make sure they have some civil order and economy by the time we leave.

Plus, if we leave iraq without a gov. its going to be a breeding ground for "terrorists" (OH GOD NO!!!) So that would make going into Iraq in the first place a waste of money and lives.

This was a call on Washington Journal from a distraught man who was from Iraq who was displeased with the consequences of the present even as compared to the past regime. It seemed sad especially considering the growing count of the enemy.

In Iraq. Go out everyday driving that vehicle knowing that you might be killed. Come home and know that your life will never be the same. Come home and listen to people saying it's all about oil. Listen to it and remember the guys who died and the ones who are messed up forever. If no one ever fought for this country, none of us would have what we have. Argue all you want, I'm not keeping my mouth shut about the real heroes.
