While Republican's insist on tying up our troops in Iraq and pursuing their failing strategy in the Middle East, terrorism is increasing and slowly spreading around the world. The conservative idea that we can simply "win" in Iraq, and that would be a major win against al Qaeda is a naive fantasy as we have seen today with the bombing in Glasgow.

Isn't it time we pull out troops out of Iraq and use them to combat worldwide terrorism (and kill bin Laden, remember?) before it gets to the point where it can't be stopped?

My friend was in the Army, but she got deployed and her parents told me about 7 months ago that she was shot in Iraq. However, I have looked on google and looked at the US Army casualty lists, and I could not find her name anywhere, on any list (and I looked on multiple lists). I think her parents are lying to me, but I'm not so sure. Is there any other place I can potentially look to see if she died or not?

Hi there, I am wanting to buy some modern rifles for my security contracting business. I was wondering if there are any shops or britsh based online shops in the UK that sell modern rifles that have not been made safe. I am fully licensed and I have all of the paper work. Thanks a lot, a few places would be helpful.

This weekend in the UK, we've had loads of bombs, presumably all by Al-Qaeda terrorists - are they ever going to stop? What's Great Britain going to do about it? And why isn't there more of a full scale war? Can someone tell me more about all this please - I'm a bit confused... ... And also worried.

I say yes! The U.S. was in an all out war with Japan. The Japanese were brutal warriors who often tortured and killed their captives, such as beheading U.S. POWs or death marches (Battaan). The Japs also sent air ballons to kill American civilians here. The Japs also didn't believe in surrendering, and would have fought all out if the U.S. had invaded the mainland of Japan. So, with such a brutal enemy that would have killed perhaps millions of American soldiers in an invasion, and with the availability of a new weapon, the A-Bomb that could save American lives and shorten the war, the dropping of the bombs was JUSTIFIED! Heck, even with the dropping of the bombs, the Japanese military did not want to surrender. It was the Emperor who finally decided to surrender.

I was watching Howard Stern TV this morning and caught Michael Moore's appearance on it from a few days ago. During the interview, Moore complained that our military leaders are so incompetent that they cannot secure a single roadway in Iraq for the past 5 years, whereas we completely defeated both Germany and Japan within 2 years.

My immediate reaction was that it's people like him who are preventing us from fighting wars any more like we did in Japan and Germany!

Take a look a pictures of both countries AFTER our forces went in there. THEY ARE DESCIMATED. THEY ARE LEVELED. Not a single building remains intact. Hundreds of thousands of people are dead. It's total destruction and ruin. THAT'S how you fight a war! And THAT'S exactly what people like Moore won't allow us to do any more! We're now fighting wars the way they insisted that we do, so that no one gets hurt, and it clearly doesn't work.

Do you agree? Would Iraq cease to be an issue if Baghdad was levelled?

Well I barely got a qaulifying score to enlist. Anyways what i did qaulify for was a mechanical job, "airplane mechanic" i believe my job couselor called it. So they asked when I wanted to leave and I said ASAP, I got my wish cause I was only in DEP for 2 months, i signed an "open general" contract and my recruiter specifically said "signing this contract basically means that when you arrive at basic they will give you a list of jobs you qaulify for, similar to what the job counselor did at meps and you will complete the process of putting the jobs you want from greatest to least all over again". I was like okay sure hell yeah i wanna go, signed it, done deal. Now everyone is saying that I made a mistake by doing so because they will put me a cop or a cook, yeah f*cking right. I wanna be a damn mechanic.
