Will I need a good pair of running shoes for bootcamp?, or are they provided? My current athletic shoes are in bad shape
and I don't have much money.

you will be issued EVERYTHING you need in boot camp, including New balance running shoes. you will be given an advance on your paycheck and it will come out of that, so your first few paychecks will be smaller.

When you arrive at bootcamp your first few paychecks will go towards purchasing all necessary clothing, shoes, uniforms, toiletries at the exchange on base. Anything you bring with you will be mailed home as soon as you arrive at bootcamp anyways.
If its still the same as it was three years ago, the running shoes you get are special new balance sneakers that are only available through the military.

Im in the army. They will provide you with shoes.

They provide everything you need in boot camp and they confiscate practically everything personal you bring with you.
(I think it is stored somewhere until you get out of basic, but don't take much. You can get stuff from home later.)

Don't bother, you will be issued a pair...everyone has to match in boot camp so they will make you store the ones you bought until you graduate

I'm pretty sure they are still provided for you, but I think they call them combat boots instead of running shoes.

Everything you will need will be dictated by paperwork given to you by your recruiter. Otherwise everything else is provided by the Military.

Yes, get good shoes. They don't provide them and you will be doing a lot of physical training. Break them in now! Being in good shape will help you get through basic training, plus you don't want your new shoes to give you blisters during training.
