We all now what attrocities the American forces commited in Vietnam, attrocities which are still having an effect in Vietnam, nothing, or not enough was done about it.
Yet the US has helped and allowed for Sadam to be hung for very similar crimes.
This is certainly hypercritical, does the fact that Sadam was a muslim arab have anything to do with it, or are the Americans merely above law and morality.

In responce to some of the asnwers. The My Lair massacure was a very real attrocity. The use of agent orange means children of both the vietneese people and american veterans are born with deformaties and an increased risk of catching cancer.
America entered the war to contain the spread of communism not to clean up after the French (who the americans financed to stay in Vietman)
The US did lose that war.
And finally surely most Americans would consider themselves more civilized than iraqis and vietcong and hence accountable to a higher morale code.

As another poster stated -- Prove the war crimes.

There have been plenty of allegations, but none have ever been brought before the International Court at the Hague.

Bring up the My Lai massacre, and I respond with -- the trials have already been completed, and the guilty punished. But I guess you're too young and ignorant to know about that, aren't you. Okay, so what other war crimes have you got? NONE!!

And why should the U.S. be the only ones to be accused of war crimes in 'Nam? The VC and NVA committed plenty of atrocities, both during and after the war. Why haven't they been brought to trial? Oh, yeah, because everybody expects Communists to commit atrocites, while the U.S. has to fight every war in an absolutely squeaky-clean, pristine, no-casualties, perfectly lawful manner. Pfaugh.

Go piss up a rope, you fool.

Actually, the American FORCES commited no attrocities. The American FORCES actually, contrary to popular belief, won most of the battles they encountered. The powers that be, however, lost the war. Oh, and give me some examples of attrocities.

Wow... That sounds like complete stupidity...

Why dont you charge ALL of those who fought and died during the Revolutionary War while you're at it.... Im sure the Brittish thought that was a pretty bad war crime back then....

Oh but wait, if that were to happen, then you would lose all of your freedoms, since our declaration of independence would be considered illegal now....

Why dont you quit thinking up some of these BS questions brewing in that liberal skull of yours, and start living in reality... I see no proof to your question since you didnt mention any attrocities...

The Vietnam attrocities were never officially confirmed. But to counter this you have to realize that the enemy did worse things than we may have done. Saddam freaking gassed his own citizens for practice!!! He kidnapped Kuwatiis and tortured them to death in Baghdad, Saddam killed millions. Yes he sure was a good guy wasn't he? I put him up there with Hitler and Stalin. I suggest you look at what other countries do, before you go around bashing the US.

The VC did the same acts as Americans were of doing. problem is any politician who gave an American soldier up to the UN would never be re elected and in all honesty if they sent Un forces to arrest them they would be gunned down by civilians. We tried some of our own soildiers but it would be a cold day in Hell before we let a foreign power have them.

Post a source to prove the atrocities. Until you prove your statement its just another Lets Bash American Troops. War is not a nice thing and bad things happened on both sides. Do you support punishing the Viet Cong for the atrocities they committed?

Stop being anti American. You are a classic liberal who's very gullable. Saddam being a Muslim had nothing to do with him being murdered. He was an insane madman who deserved his punishment. As for Vietnam, the communists were worse. We the American were the good guys. Take your lies somewhere else.

We did a lot of bad things. But they did treated our soldiers a million times worse. Ask any Nam' POW about his experience. He'll give you the most gruesoem story you ever heard. (If he'll talk about it)
