Point of interest: The Greeks were the first to use flame throwers against the Persians. It was used to burn the ships carrying the Persian troops to attack Greece. Then it was used in China in about 913 a.d.
So the use of the flame thrower was not really a weapon invented in the 20th century. It was modified & used in all wars since the 1st W.W. through today.
No, the USA was not the only one using the flame thrower, the Germans were the first to use it in modern warfare.

the canadians had a flame thrower tank in ww2. in ww1 the germans used flamethrowers. i think the germans were the ones who made them

if you are talking about ww 2,no,Germans and Soviets have them too,except the Soviets were more concern about disguising their flamethrowers which will look like a normal rifle and a normal fieldpack
