I am asking because my childs father has been telling people he's going into the army. I seriously doubt that is true, but was curious if being extremely behind would be ruled as dishonorable.

Well this happened many years ago but I doubt it has changed. My first wife’s husband was ordered to pay child support when they divorced. He never paid a penny. About a year after we got married she found out he had gone back into the Navy. He had not listed the fact he had a son and was to be paying support. She wrote the Bureau of Naval Personnel. They gave him a choice, sign the allotment authorization or be court marshaled for fraudulent enlistment with the resultant dishonorable discharge.

You only get discharged from the army for dishonorable conduct, not refused entry. Be thankful if he does get in, it means he'll have a paycheck for your child support office to take back owed support from.

I have a friend who enlisted into the active army, and he owed back child support. When you do your initial paperwork with finance and stuff like that, they set up alotments and stuff like that so you can start paying that back.

The amry does not care if he pay child support or not. But once he join they will not let him do any that will make the army look bad. Let him go. after he is gone the amry will make him pay and he will probaly get a couple of weeks of extra duty or brig time.

If he goes into the army, you will be assured of getting your court required child support. Right out of his check.

Oh hunny, beg them to support it. If you want to see that money, it's the only way you'll get it. Child Support payments are NOT an option...they are mandatory.
