The Germans had the best tank, the King Tiger, and the best artillery, the 88mm. The American semi-auto M1 Garand was by far the best rifle of the war, and easily outclassed the German rifle, the Kar98K.
The Allies had long-range bombers and fighters, such as the B-17 and P-51. The Germans only ever had medium range warplanes, and their air force had little effect at the end of the war.
The American Thompson submachine gun fired the .45 ACP round, and had a lot more stopping power than the German MP40, although the MP40 had a faster rate of fire.
One gun that might have one the war for the Germans was the Stg44, which is considered to be the first practical assault rifle. However, as with many German weapons, it was developed too late in the war to be of any use.
However, according to the Allied commander in Europe, Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, the two pieces of equipment that won the war were the Willys Jeep and the two and a half ton truck. The Jeep could be used by officers to get around a battlefield quickly, and the two and a half ton truck allowed the Allies to supply their armies as they swept across Europe. The Germans, who had nothing like these vehicles, were crippled in command and supply situations.

Many people will say the Americans because of our automatic weapons such as the Thompson and the BAR and our rifle the M1 Grand. or they will say their country had the best.... but im gonna have to agree with you. the Germans had the best weapons and they had really good tactics. some of which are still used today. plus the Germans came up with the ME-262 Jet. Their tanks were so heavily armored they were hard to destroy. didnt they rescue Mussolini without losing any soldier? and they even had the V1 and V2 bombs and the germans which most people know had the Kar98 they also had the Gewehr 41 which i think fired 10 rounds unlike the 8 round the M1 fired., the MP40 which fired faster then the Thompson, and the Germans had the STG44

Germany by far. They had the most advanced technology and their equipment and weapons were very high quality.

(these are not in order)

1. ME-262. The first jet fighter.

2. Panther Tank- One of the best if not the best tank of WW2.

3. MG42- Light machine gun with 1,200RPM (rounds per minute).

4. Sturmgewehr- First assault rifle.

5. V-2 Rocket- First ballistic missile.

6. Fritz-X- First smart bomb.

7. Panzer Faust- First disposable man-portable anti-tank weapon with the power to destroy any armored fighting vehicle of WW2.

8. Tiger Tank- Although prone to breakdown. Its high armor and 8.8cm gun was devastating to enemy tanks.

9. Fa 223 Helicopter- First manufactured helicopter although Germany also invented the helicopter.

10. Henschel Hs 298- First air-to-air missile.

11. U-Boat - German submarine that was devastating on supply lines and warships.

12. MP40- Sub-machine gun with a extremely low recoil.

There are also a ton of super advanced German weapons and equipment that were in the testing stage, still just a sketch, the factory had been bombed while in production, or were captured before use. Such as the Horten Ho 229 which was the first stealth fighter/ bomber and jet powered. 3 of these were made.

Ther Germans had excellent weapons at the beginning of the war, with the k98 mauser bolt action rifles, which is actually one of the longest running productions in history. First manufactered in 1898 by the Mauser Brothers (who had a long history in firearms production), the Mauser " '98" is still in production today as a hunting and target rifle. It was a solid, simple design, and many copies of it were made, to include the British Lee-Enfield, the US M1903/M1917 Springfield, the Japanese Arisaka, and several others. It had a powerful, 8mm round, that had excellent range and accuracy. The Germans began to dabble in semi-auto weapons, and their first attempt, the Mauser M43, was a poor weapon, as it was complicated and unreliable. During the invasion of the Soviet Union, German engineers looked at captured Soviet SVT 40 rifles and copied the gas system, greatly increasing the performance and reliablity of this weapon, and was redesignated the G (Gewher) 43. They also developed the MP44, the first automatic rifle (the M1918 BAR was technically considered a machine gun). It used a short cartridge 8mm, carried a 30 round magazine, and had a rte of fire around 800rpm. Hitler thought it was ugly and refused to authorize it, but they slipped it into production anyway. It was simple, effective and reliable, and gave a single soldier a great deal of firepower. The Germans also had the MG43, in both light and heavy versions. This fired at an astonishing 2000+ round per minute, and would go on to be the standard for machine gun design to this day.

For the Americans, there was the M1 Garand. Chambered for .30-06, it was semiautomatic and fired from an 8-round 'en bloc' clip, which was inserted into the magazine. This rifle was heavy and complicated, but it was the first general issue semi-automatic rifle ever used by any military. With the proper care and training, this was a pwerful weapon in the hands of any American Marine or soldier, as it was powerful, and accurate to ranges in excess of 800 yards. The M2 .50 caliber machine gun should also be noted, for it's power and versatility. First developed before the first world war, the M2's in service today are actually very little changed from John Browning's first design at the beginning of the 20th Century. It could be mounted on a tripod, from a vehicle mount, or mounted in an aircraft. The most commoon guns used in the sky by our enemies was either the 7.7mm (Japanese) and 7.9mm (8mm, German), and the 20mm cannon. The '50' greatly outclassed anything in the 30 caliber (7mm-8mm) in range, power and accuracy, and actually had the same effective range as the 20mm cannon rounds, because it had a much higer muzzle velocity.

The Germans had excellent engineers, but their leader was a megolamaniacal drug-addict, and we were pounding their industry to dust on a daily basis, but the American weapons have to take the edge for sheer production, ingenuity, as well as the training of those that had to use them.

I believe it was the T35? tank used be Russia that was the most armored of the day. The German KAR was an awful rifle and it is said that many Germans actually dropped their rifles when they found a British Enfield. The Americans probably had the best rifle and portable machine gun (Garand and BAR). The Germans did have the assault rifle stg44, and the mp40 which had very little recoil

WW2 era weapons are nonetheless obtainable on the industry. Gun exhibits, interior of reach shops generally sells Mosin Nagants, Lee-Enfield, M1 Carbines or rifles, Mauser rifles, Springfield, Carcano, Swiss, Finnish, Spanish, and Akista (jap rifle). some real gun shops (ones that sells only weapons and gun upload-ons) will sell a super form of M1 Carbines and Rifles. Luger pistols, hi well-known, and so forth. assume to pay an extremely surprisingly penny (a pair grand) for any real Nazi pistols or Nazi marked rifles. Atlantic firearms (on line) has a PPsh41 for approximately 1100$. it became used with the aid of the allied crimson military in the conflict. I additionally observed a MG42 there too. generally cases in American Rifleman (mag) there are advertisements for Mauser rifles (Mitchell's mausers) and a duplicate Thompson SMG (semi motor vehicle only) with the aid of motor vehicle Ordinance. effect weapons (on line) each now and then would sell a genuine WW2 era SMG in case you like one, stay in a professional-gun state, pass the NFA classification 3 standards, have quite a number of money, around 20,000 funds, and pay a $two hundred tax.

The Germans had the best weapons easily. They had the best tanks, the best fighter aircraft, developing jets ahead of the Allied forces (although they never had a good long range heavy bomber) and the only country with long range rockets.
The only advantage the Allies had was the atom bomb but that came too late for the war in Europe.

The Germans had the best weapons, by far (at least during most of the war). Their tank units were better, their luftwaffe was better, and their V-2 rockets were studied and the basic designs used for space research for decades after the war. The Americans were able to catch up to the tanks with the introduction of the Sherman, and they were nearly able to match German aviation technology with the introduction of the P-51. The Germans were painfully close to developing the nuclear bomb before we reached Berlin, and ended their participation in the war.

Had Hitler used better tactics, he may have conquered the world. He was a terrible tactician, though, and it cost him dearly in the end. Thank God.

We had the best WEAPON of WWII. The M1 Garand. We could fire 8 rounds without looking out of the M1 Garands sights. 8 rounds without having to recock a bolt. 2,800 feet per second muzzle velocity, 800 yard accuracy, I think we had the best weapon during WWII. The Soldier and his rifle are the best combination of the best killing machine.
