While you stated that your brother is in the Army, the Marine Corps motto works well. Semper Fidelis (Semper Fi), latin for Always Faithful.

If you want something cool and stupid and funny at the same time, look up military bumper stickers. I did see one a few weeks ago that read "United States Marine Corps (you can use army or navy here", Keeping the Faith Since 1775". This is not a religious reference, but more in having faith in your comrades in arms, yourself, and that what you are doing is right.

Another quote, from General George Patton, reads something like this. Although it refers more to fallen soldiers, it is still touching.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn those that have died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.

I don't think that I have this worded exactly, but that is the gist of it.

I would like to thank you and your family for your service and sacrifice. Semper Fi, best of luck.

Looks like you stated it yourself.

My Hero. My Guardian Angel. My Big Brother.

In my opinion the best quote you can use
about someone in the military:

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."
George Orwell
