Yippy, your question belongs in the 'religion' section.
Aside from that, there is noone that desires peace more than a combat veteran and soldier. However he understands that there will be no peace if there is noone willing to risk life to maintain and attain it. That may sound contradictory, but...
"if good men do nothing, then evil will prevail."
God? I protect the right of all to worship whichever god (or lack thereof) they have convinced themselves is correct. Now, I will not allow a group of zealots who desire to criminally wage war to place their religion as superior over all others to kill and maim any of my countrymen quietly praying to whomever they desire.
Of course every worshipper believes their god is the 'true one.' If they did not, they wouldn't worship that god. If they doubted it, they would search to find 'the truth.' Almost every religion has a 'faith' element. There are things that simply cannot be proven without it.
Even atheism has a faith element. Even atheism believes that *something*(the universe) has always existed in some form.
So, the US military will continue to protect your right to not believe at all, the muslims right to believe and every other believer (including both Christians and Wiccas) the right to practice their religion, so long as NONE attempt to subvert the others or persecute and kill others in order to convert them. Isn't it wonderful to live in a country that protects your belief (or lack thereof) so fully?

Seriously, the point of your question is the reason why there are people who do not believe in religion. It's just a lot of tall tales, with absolutely no proof or evidence. Maybe there is a God, but if it were an all powerful God of love, obviously killing, greed and slavery would not be allowed in this world. Working endlessly at meaningless jobs for no more than chump change, while other people make millions of dollars just for being popular, or manipulative. Waiting to die is no way to live, and unfortunately, that is what Christianity is all about.

How could you even write that. God has given us free choice. IF you choose to not believe in Him that is your choice. But to smear the name of God? Why are you so angry at God?
If we didn't have free choice what would be the point? Life is a beautiful mystery and we are meant to find our own way and work our our own paths. Yes there is suffering, and pain and a lot of corruption in this world. In the face of such evil, do you not think there is Good? Have you ever met someone who suffered so much but still loved God? Suffering actually brings you close to Him. I know I have been brought closer to him because of my suffering. There is something to look forward to in the next life. But in the meantime, don't you think what you are saying is a bit hypocritical?
It is unwise to put people in a group mentality and not look at us as individuals.

God did create us equal. He also gave us free will. Some like Mother Teresa or Bill Gates have used their free will to better themselves and mankind. Some have taken their free will and become child predators or spammers.
I believe God would expect the good people to seek peace but not at the cost of justice or the common good. It is illogical to believe we are supposed to build a better world only to let evil doers tear it down.
God Bless George Bush!

One second your saying that God is causing it then the next second your saying that God he is hiding .Are you confused ? Besides all that we are all forgiven for our sins that's what Jesus died for or dint you understand that part to. The only ones that are never going to be forgiven are the ones that die during Armageddon the disbelievers the ones who are blaming God just as Adam did when he blamed God for sending him that woman . This God of mine is not at fault for the way you think you have your own free will he does not force you to think its all up to you.

God allows us to make our own desisions, and many times those decisions have lasting and terrible consequences (such as war and terrorism). Bad things happen because of sin. Sin is the reason for everyones suffering, not God. God loves us and he wants whats best for us but sometimes he has to let the bad things happen so that we can realize how evil sin is. we need to turn to him during the hard times and let him take away our hurts. it hurts God very badly to see us suffering but sometimes he allows us to suffer so that we can come closer to him. if we cling to him during our suffering we will become stronger and more in tune with God. if we stick with God through the hard times we WILL see a light at the end of tunnel, we just have to trust in him and give our whole lives to him.

You don't get it. This world and this time you are here is a test. A time of free will, for you and everyone to chose good or evil. If he didn't allow true free will how would he know if you passed the test.

When did God say men were equal? Men are fighting and killing because that's what they do. Believing men are 'equal' is more moronic than a belief in God. No two people are equal in any respect, the best that people can do is offer everyone an equal opportunity to do what they can. That is the spirit that this country is founded on, and it is worth dying, and killing, for. I suppose you atheists feel it is God's fault, but if there is no God, then who do you blame? Yourself for your selfish, ignorant behavior?
