Excluding veterans (who have proven themselves), why does it seem there are so many people `talking the talk', but they are not over in Iraq `walking the walk', and fighting the war which they claim they so much believe in? If they truly believe that the primary reason the US is in Iraq is to fight terrorism, why aren't all these pro-war people over there fighting it? Why are there so many people in our country that expect OTHER people to step in front of bullets for them. If the Iraq war was a worthy cause of world freedom, instead of the greed driven, religious revenge, absolute fiasco that it is, I would be the first one over there. I would certainly never expect someone else to risk their life for me, unless I were right there fighting beside them.

Ever notice how the people who ask this type of question (and those who agree with it) are people who have never served themselves?

The obvious answer to this question is that our nations military is ALL volunteer. Every single person that is in the military either joined or re-enlisted after the start of the Iraq war. So a great many of the "war supporters" ARE over there fighting it, i.e.: Walking the walk.
There will always be armchair warriors. The people who just talk the talk. But that's what's great about this country.... The people "Walk the walk" so that others are able to "Talk the talk".
No matter if you are for or against the war, it's those wearing the uniform that allow you to express your opinion. In most of the countries in that area, expressing opinions against the government will get you jailed or worse.

The question does have many valid points, the only reason that these people say that the war in Iraq is to fight terrorism, is because that is what they are told by THEIR president. the hard and true republicans are the ones that are afraid to cross party lines and admit that the man they have in Washington doesn't know what he is doing, and are afraid to see reality because of their political affiliation, they are afraid that other Republicans will look down on them. They don't want to admit that they messed up by putting this individual in office and making themselves look like complete morons. So they back whatever he tells them.
But I do want to applaud the Republicans that will admit that Bush was a mistake and should never have been put in the position that he is in, by making the United States citizens look like war-mongers.
Also to respond to the statement by m1a1mikegolf, i was in the military when Reagan was President, I did my time! So I do have the right to respond to this question..My question to you is, DID YOU SERVE???

not all war supporters are able to go overseas. some might be disabled or too old. and for your info, the Iraq war IS a worthy cause for world freedom. we're trying to stop the terrorists from destroying the people of America and other countries (including their own people).

I went through the entire process. Took my written test (89). Didn't pass the physical due to skin irritations.

A lot of supporters are not able to be in the armed forces for whatever reasons. I am sure they would if they could.

As you can see... they justify why they can't go or they flip the question. Rather evasive. Just like George W. The day he sends his privileged daughters to Iraq.... I too will reenlist. Big talk for such little men and women. They are wussies. They'd rather stay here and live high on the hog as opposed to getting in the trenches and putting their lives on the line on a daily basis. WTF?

The military is actually unable to accept that many recruits, so even if they all tried, only a fraction of them could be taken. Many are individually unfit to serve, as well, due to age, infirmity, being openly gay (many of them are aparently 'chickenhawks' - that being an older gay man with a predilection for 'twinks'), etc...

Would you want to share a Foxhole with Dick Cheyney, or Rumsfeld or George W?
Would you want to be in a position where your life depended on thier ability?
The Aristocracy never serves, that's what they have rednecks for. Just like in the Civil War.
