what really happens to ISI and CIA agents when they get caught in any type of surveillance missions or other?

types of missions in other countries?I've heard many rumours but I don't know what's real. Anyone with proper knowledge of Intelligence agencies please answer me

they get tortured and then executed for being a spy.

Tried for espionage (always the death penalty) or traded for one of their spies which is being held in the country they captured a spy from. They can trade a spy for anything, but normally they are executed.
