How come it is hard to find anything on crimes committed by people who work in the judicial system? Is this kept hush hush because of the back lash it could cause? It seems like every time I look at CNN there is a story about some police officer or lawyer or judge who has been charged with breaking the law yet there is no info I can find when I google how much of this really goes on! I have read though that less then half of the crimes committed by these people are actually reported! I know they are human beings to but if you take that oath then you should be held to a higher standard then the general population! Because these people have the ability to ruin a persons life on a whim if they want! I know from from people that I know that work in the system and others that have been charged with B.S. (and I know it is B.S.!) because it makes they official look good even though it is at the expense of anothers life! I know there are a lot of honest ones out there but there are bad ones!

Say a family member ran you over.....not on purpose but while you were in a fight.....and then took off without checking to see if you were okay.

Is this against the law...if you went to a cop in NJ what would they do? I know the hospital bills are covered by the car insurance, but what is the legal outcome?

This is the thing, I was driving my Geo (small car) and then I turned in a one way street, and I saw a police car with the lights on about 3 blocks away from where I was, I really couldnt notice if it was coming towards me or just stopped there until it came closer (around 1 1/2 blocks) then I started looking for a place to park but there were cars parked in the street so I couldnt get in any spot, so the police car came to me, I was really close to an alley and I thought of getting in there, but the police wouldnt wait and forced me to go against the parked cars, thank God my car is really small and I dont have the passenger's mirror or I know I would have hit one or more of those cars and then he still yells at me MOVE!! so I mean, he is in a wrong way in a really small street, (like only 2.5 cars size) and theres no space, yes he has the lights on and I know Im suppose to get out of their way, my mom was at me cuz I got mad at the police, so who is wrong here? I really want to know

How does one legally get rid of a gun. We have a couple guns in the house that I no longer want to own. They have been fired at target ranges. Can someone actually sell a gun? What are the laws? How do you know you are giving it to someone who won't do anything stupid. We live in Texas.
Thank you all for any information you can give me.

How do they help or hurt the other, or are they pretty much on the same page? Grant it, I understand their duties are the same as far as upholding the law. I only wonder if they conflict at all in the halls of courthouses or something like that...anything...because one works at the city level and the other works at state level? I hope you understand what I'm asking. Thanks!

right now most states charge $100 fine and maybe towing. Do you think it should more or less severe punishment? This would also include people who use a family members tag so they can park up front. Most public parking is free for the handicapped.

The prisons being as full as they are says just one thing, no one is bothered to much about going to prison. I believe the reason for this is that prisons are far to soft. Why prisoners should be allowed to watch tv, play dvds, have pool tables or table tennis and such like is beyond me. If we were to make prison time hard, then people would think twice about putting themselves in a situation where they might end up there. As far as I'm concerned prison should be somewhere you dread going to. So get rid of all the luxuries and get the inmates grafting on something.
