I was a victim of a hit and run today in Denver, CO and the police officer that came to help me was so kind to me! Do you know what would be the best way to share my appreciation for his kindness? Send a letter to the police department telling them what a great cop I think he is? Just send a letter to his department addressed to him to thank him? both? what would you suggest?

Yes, It was a foolish thing to do.. trust me, I know! But it totally slipped my mind until today! Then it dawned on me that I had gotten a speeding ticket way back before I got out of school. I looked for my ticket, but it was no where to be found. So I looked online for Virginia traffic violations, and it turns out I've missed my court date and prepaid date. Yikes! It says I've been "Tried in Absentia." Could anyone explain what this means, what's gonna happen to me, and what my next step should be?

Thanks!

i know this woman that lives in the country outside of Prairei Grove she has a 4 year old girl that she abuses on a daily basis I have DHS, called the 1-800 Abuse Hotline at least 5 or 6 times I have even called Washington County Sherriff for a wellness check on the child still nothing has even been checked on. The child is being given adult strength Nerve Tonic it only makes her worse. She will not mind I admit But a Person don't have to beat her with sticks, belts, or shoes. I am worried about this child. I have seen her drag the child across the yard and beat her with sticks, hit her in the head with a shoe and I have reported it still nothing, The child had staph infection in some sores she refused to give her the medicine she was perscribed. I don't know what else to do. bjwill72961@yahoo.com

She is being hired for a new job and they are doing a background check (at a healthcare facility). I thought maybe it might show up and told her not to give her notice here until she is cleared. She actually did not know that her license had been suspended until her insurance company found it during a random study. Is a suspension a felony or a crime or what is the technical term? Is it serious like a drug conviction? I think that hospitals only search for felonies, not traffic violations, but I wasn't sure where a 'suspension' fell....

She is not suspended now.

The state is West Virginia.

So last night we had a party and about 2:00 when all but about 15 people had already left the cops showed up. My buddy who left as they pulled in called me so i went outside to meet them before they could knock on the door. They give me the normal keep it down/start sending people home speach and i agree. They said if they have to come back them i would get a noise citaton. Then one cop asks if i mind if he went inside and looked around. Knowing my rights I said no he can't. He asked again in another way and I once again told him he did not need to. He became upset and told me to get my ID cus now they were gonna write me a noise citation.

So they wrote it up its like $100 no big deal but it just seems wrong that the only reason I got it was because i used my 4th amendment right to deny warrentless search.

Also I've always been told that when they come out for noise you get a warning the first time and IF THEY HAVE TO COME BACK, you get written up. This was their first visit.

This guy messaged me in MySpace a few months prior asking for my e-mail address. I stupidly gave it to him. Then in my MSN Messenger he started asking me when I could meet him and have sex with him. I told him to shut up. Then he said that he'd Masturbate and make organisms to make me happy. I told him to shut up and kept closing my messenger but he kept saying it. I couldn't turn off my messenger becuase I was talking with someone about a prject. I have since blocked him from MS and deleted him from my MSn but he still kept coming on and saying all of the above. I told my friend about him, his dad's the DA, he said there's nothing that can be done because I'm over 18. I told my friend who volunteers for Perverted Justice to watchout for him. She said they haven't come across him. I just blocked him from my MSN but he found other ways to talk to me by getting a new e-mail address. I can't change my e-mail address because I need it for business. How can I get rid of this guy?

I had a passport when I was a kid, and never used it. Later in life, I was convicted of a non-violent felony (trafficking in MDMA (ecstasy)). I've done my sentence, all of my rights have been restored - other than possessing a gun. Can I still get a passport, and do I need to do anything "special" to get one?

The body found Saturday in a park was that of 26-year-old Jessie Davis, whose due date was July 3, the Summit County Medical Examiner's office said. Bobby Cutts Jr., who authorities suspect is the father of the unborn child, is charged with two counts of murder.

What do you think should hapen to the father of the baby, who killed not only the unborn child but the woman.

speeding. I was just wondering if this is the proper protocol and procedure for a female officer to act in this situation when dealing with a male. Can this be considered sexual assault? Possibly this can be considered for a reason to have this charge dropped? Thank you very much

I have recently moved and have yet to change go to the DMV to have my address on my drivers license changed. My drivers license expires in 2008, but if I get a new one it will expire it will expire this November. I have moved counties, and the license plate is registered in my new county and up to date. What will happen if I am pulled over for speeding? Is this illegal?
(I live in Kansas, I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not)

I feel she led him on.Since that time I can do nothing with him. The parents of the girl knew they had sex and failed to inform me. They have condoned the sexual relationship and encouraged it by allowing my son to stay at there house despite my very serious objections. I looked at his computer and it is filled with sexual messages between him and the girl. Please tell me how I stop this. Can I bring charges against the girls parents?

This happened to someone a lil over a year ago around where I live.... The cops were trying to serve a involuntary commitment order on him and he ran. Which resulted in a very short car chase that ended like 2 blocks from where it started.. The dude rammed a few police cars so the cops shot and "OVER" killed him (I think it was like 14 or 15 shots hit him) What justifies this? If someone shot a cop 15 times he or she would get nothing less than the death penalty, but a cop can kill whoever and get administrative leave with pay and just stay home and sit on his/her аss and eat donuts all day... WTF???

I received a reckless driving ticket for doing 83mph in a 65mph zone while driving on I-81 south. I was on a motorcycle in the middle of a pack of four bikes following two cars, all of us going the same speed, and the state cop pulled me over??? I asked him why he would pick me out of the middle of the pack, and he said that the laser locked on me. I am scheduled to go to court next week. Does this seem possible for him to lock on me, and can I at least get this reduced to a speeding violation instead of reckless????????
Thank you for your advice.

There is a old guy who lives in a travel trailer near my bustop
When he comes out he mumbles something about having every episode of cops and that he watches it over and over while he is on the internet, He claims to be a top contributer on yahoo answers and seem to very proud of this.
He mumbles also about being a retired cop this might be true because he has a shirt like the mall rentacops do.
I must have made him mad when me and my friend tommy were playing He yelled at us and we did make fun of him.
anyway i had this funny dream where this large sphincter said"
be wary of advice from retired cops" Im worried he will track me down and tell my mum for makin fun of him. What can I do?

and ran her car off the road into a ditch. Her friend got mad or scared and demanded she let her (the friend) drive. As her friend was backing up, the police pulled up. Her friend got a DUI (she's 21). My niece insists she kept telling the police that she was the one that drove the car into the ditch but they didn't believe her. They didn't do anything to her- not even cite her for underage drinking. Now her friend is livid because she has a DUI and my niece got off with nothing. My niece is really upset that her friend is getting in trouble for what she really did. She spoke to a friend whose lawyer told her there was nothing she could do and to be grateful she didn't get cited for underage drinking and DUI and reckless operation. Her friend wants her to do something to get them to take the DUI off. Is there anything she can do? Is there anything her friend can do to get the charge changed to my niece?

What should do? I want to support her, but its such a dangerous job. I'm not sure where the idea came from, we have no relatives with a job like that. She is a senior in High School and she always wanted to be a science researcher before this.
