I know the state of Minnesota allows for court ordered Rehab, and I know all it requires are three signatures. I am wondering how I go about getting a court order, how long it usually takes to go through the system, and how I can find out more about this.

Several times I have had the occasion to leave a store and when I go to drive off, here are about three of the citys finest blocking me and when they come to my window, they ask if I've been drinking? Then they say how they can sure smell it. I pass their tests and blow nothing but zero. Why do they presume I am drinking when they dont even know me? I take offense that they say they can smell it on me when I am a teetotaler...Are they all so bored they are dying to cage a REALLLY HORRIBLE CRIMINAL (DUI? Fine, then leave me alone and go find a drunk. I am pissed off at their tactless violations and torts. and after humiliating me in public for about twenty minutes they let me go... Why cant I send them a bill for my time? they get worked up over prank 911 calls and fine you for taking their time, but when they abuse their power and take your time it is different.. Which leads me to believe the Rolling Stones were absolutely right to have the Hells Angels police their concert long ago.

ok, i was 18 and just moved back to my hometown where i was always used to crossing the street anyway, but they had a new stop light at the corner. there were no cars coming so i stepped off the curb. when i did, a police car stopped in the intersection in front of me and was going to make a right hand turn. i didn't want to block him from making his turn, so i stepped back on the curb. he then motioned me on to cross. so i crossed. he pulled his car over, got out and got my id from me and gave me a ticket. how ethical do you think that was? i didn't fight the ticket i paid it. this was in Los Angeles several years ago and the ticket cost me $110

My husband and I were driving through an intersection and a guy ran a red light and almost ran into us. Thank god we just got new brakes and we barely avoided hitting him. At the next red light my husband caught up to him, parked the car beside him and went out of the car. He wasn't sure if he had any damage so he wasn't going to let the guy get away. He left the door open, went up to the guy's window, and told him he ran a red light and almost hit us and what was he thinking etc. The guy just looked at him and listened. All of a sudden he back up his car and then drove it right into the open door. He then backed up again & repeated, causing the door to bend. He then ran up the street going the wrong way. I got the plate number, called the police, filed a report. I highly doubt they will find the guy since there were no injuries & he has Florida plates & we're in NYC.
Anything else I could do to get this guy caught?
Can my insurance help if I only have liability coverage?

Okay, I just answered a question about DUI's on here and it brought a rumor I had heard to mind. I heard to carry around a bottle of hard liquore in your car. If you ever wind up getting pulled over and have been drinking immediatley get outta the car before the cop can approach you. Be very obvoius about doig this and take the UNOPENED bottle, open it and start chugging it. If this would work it probably only would if the cop had a dashboard cam as otherwise he could lie but from what I have heard there is then no way for the cop to prove you were not sober before you drank the bottle in front of him. You'll probably still get arrested for drinking in public or something like that but it's better than a DUI. Any truth to this? Also, I don't drink and drive and am not looking for a free pass so don't lecture me as I don't need a lecture. I was just curious if this was true or not. As ridiculous as it sounds it seems to make sense.

I got a speeding ticket over 150 miles from my house and since I'm 16, I apparently have to come to court with my guardian. This is not possible, not only do I not have the money to pay the stupid thing, IT'S A 3 HOUR DRIVE! So I was forced to take a warrant for my arrest. Anyways, I was wondering since I haven't payed it yet...Does my insurance know? And will they raise my rates?

If it's against the law to chat on a cell phone while driving, then don't you think that POLICE OFFICERS shouldn't be doing it while IN THE PATROL CAR and ON DUTY?

I thought the first rule of law enforcement was to "lead by example."

This is the story. A truck driver is passing through Ohio. He gets pulled over by a cop (not sure if local or state) and the cops says he is going to cite him for tailgating or he can pay $100 immediately and be done with it. The truck driver says he doesn't have the money. The cop then takes the truckdriver's license and gives him a written note that says he must return to Ohio with $100 to get his license back. I cannot believe that this is legit. My thinking is that either the cop is crooked or the truckdriver made this up so that his wife (who pays the bills) will give him hooker money. Does anyone know if this sort of thing is legal for a cop?

A coworker put an poisonous; cancer causing; aerosol can under my machine and taped the sprayer down and I did not realize it until I was very ill. When this happened there were two witnesses that agreed to our supervisor the they did this. I reported it the next day and this person got fired. Other people have come forward to say this person has done the same thing to them. I have been getting nose bleeds and feeling ill every day since. What should I do?

Within the last month 4 police officers have been shot and Philadelphia has become one of the most dangerous cities in the United States due to the over abundance and easy access to guns. One officer was shot last night and within 12 hours of that (10:30am est today) another police officer was shot in the head right as he walked in the door of a Dunkin Donuts (the search still continues and the officer is in "extremely critical condition" at this time). Do you think the city can someday pull itself to safety or is it doomed to become a violent slum?
