If he does not show up to the hearing (he signed for certified mail) and does not enter Indiana again, does indiana have recourse? How long does he have before the hounds of hell desend?

you need to contact a lawyer. Just living in another state doesn't protect you. if you don't attend the hearing, you in effect lose because the other party wins by default. It may take a while because things that are interstate take longer but inevitably they will catch up with you.

If the father doesn't show up for court then a default judgment would be entered for him. then if he gets arrested in any other state then the Governor of Indiana is notified and an extradition order my be signed by the Governor Indiana to the state in question. he is then transported back to Indiana. The state in question will hold him for 90 days then release him if nothing is heard. it doesn't matter if he is only sentenced for 10 days they will still hold him for the 90 days. if he is held for lets say 65 days and he gets extradited then he has to serve the 10 days.
