Noone really got hurt, well the woman said her neck hurts and she went to the hospital.i called her 2 times to see how shes doing...im just really scared that she wants a lot of money from me now. I wanted to avoid putting this on a blog or message board for fear of getting uneducated answers. But here we go: In June I had an abortion. After this abortion I immediatley regret it, went through major depression and quite frequently thought of suicide. My symptoms never cleared up, they got worse. I assumed it was the flu because i was throwing up and there was no way i could be pregnant . I went to my doctor and was surprised to find out my blood test came back positive for pregnancy. After many tests about two weeks later it was decided i had a complete molar pregnancy. My doctor explained to me that I never actually had an embryo inside of me, and that it was almost impossible for the women who did my ultrasound to miss that it was a molar. And that it came back worse the second time than it had the first time. Do i have a case against the clinic for not informing me of such a dangerous (possibly life or death) complication? Would it be med.malpractice or something else?

I live in Hartsdale NY and I got a ticket in the Hartsdale village (right near the Hartsdale MetroNorth station). It was a $15 fine and I paid it right away. I waived my court date, pleaded guilty and just paid. However, I paid with CASH (a $10 + $5, perfect change).

Will they accept this or will it get sent back to me?

P.S. This is my first ticket and my parents would not be happy with me if they found out about this (I just started driving and they'd just call me irresponsible. In addition, it's a really stressful time for my family because I'm applying to college and such, so...it's really hectic and it'd be really nice if this little ticket thing didn't make things worse. Please help.

I was in a car with 3 other people and we were pulled over by the police becuse the driver went through a red light. We were all told to get out of the car and the police said for ther safety we were no under arrest but they had to handcuff us - and the way they did it was we were handcuffed together as a group around a sign post - (It was really embrassing everyone passing by was looking at us.) and they asked if they could search us and the car and if anything was in the car and the driver gave permission to search the car and we all said they could search us. In the car they found some beer and some weed and they asked whos it was and know one said anything and they said we were all charged with it. The sentence we got was 80 hrs of community service - But the worst part was being handcuffed together to a sign post and being taken to lockup. Has anyone ever had that experience.

If I were to be attacked in a parking lot or something and had my purse, what sort of everyday things could be used as a means of self-defense? I already carry pepper spray with me. What else should I have handy to protect myself? Please, serious answers only. Thank you in advance!

The Brazilian electrician shot dead by police who thought he was a suicide bomber had been acting in an "aggressive and threatening manner" when confronted by officers, a court heard on Friday. Menezes was walking to the station, buying a ticket and getting on the train - well if that is behaving in an agressive manner, what chance have we got with a few drinks inside us.
The murder of Jean Charles de Menezes, who was gunned down as he boarded an underground train at Stockwell tube station in south London was a "terrible accident", said the lawyer defending the capital's force which is on trial for breaking health and safety laws. But he had been behaving "aggressive and threatening manner". De Menezes was shot seven times in the head for being agressive and threatening against 6 armed police officers??

Agressive manner??? no one else on the train saw his "agressiveness" Just what do our police do when confronted by a really agressive person, nuke him?

Have you ever known a police officer to write himself/herself a traffic ticket when their traffic violation was pointed out to them by a civilian? Under what circumstances should they?

the end of school zone does not end until he gets to the next speed limit sign.

I got pulled over and ticketed for driving on a suspended license with knowledge and altered temp tag ( it was a day expired so i changed the date til I could get a new one). I thought my court date was today and called for the time, the told me it was last monday and that I have two bench warrants out, both of which require $250 bail. I don't really have $500 for bail now. A couple of questions. Will they mail me my bench warrant or serve it in person? If I turn myself in without bail money how long can I expect to be in jail for?

When your released from probation early off of a suspended execution of sentence...do you need to try to get your record expunged? would you still be considered as a felon? will potential employers see it? i was an aspiring lawyer and my friend asked me some of these questions but i don't know all the answers...is it even likely for my friend to released early from probation? take into consideration the charge wasn't horrible and the circumstances were just wierd...i kind of feel she got a messed up judgement. anyway that is not the point though what is done is done

okay so long story short.
my friend and i egged a house.
then he dropped me off.
on his way home, he got a call on his cell phone from the police but it said it was a private caller and it was all like asking about egging and stuff.
but like, how would the police get his cell phone number?!
it's not even under his name, it's under his mom's name.
and when they called they addressed him by his nickname, not his full name.
they didn't even ask his last name.
and then they asked if he was with me and they didn't even say my last name. how would they even know that i was with him!?
and then they called his house and they called that private too.
does this story sound a little fishy?
because we think our friends that knew we were doing this called and pretended to be the police just to freak us out.

Lately I've noticed there are a lot, and I do mean A LOT, of cars with their windows tinted on the front drivers and passenger sides as well as the dash. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that was against the law, that is, except for law enforcement, particularly undercover narcotics, which seems a little silly in it's self, like drug dealers wouldn't notice that. I understand that the officers need to protect their identities but even I notice the tinted windows, not to mention the fancy cars. Has the law changed regaurding tinted windows and the average Joe?

Here is my situation. I live in Missouri if that helps you answer my question. I was charged and plead guilty to 2 assault charges and leaving the scene of an accident. I received 16 days in the county jail (serving weekends) and I am almost done with those and 1 year unsupervised probation. While in county lockup, I was charged with trying to smuggle in a tobacco product and a lighter ( a class A misdemeanor) and have a summons to appear in court.

What do you think is the likely amount of jail time or fines I would receive if I plead guilty to the charge?
