Juveniles do not go to any one place in particular.... Each state has their own facilities to house them. And, unless they are adjudicated as an adult for some very serious crime... Juveniles do not go to adult prison.

In most states the places where juveniles are 'locked up' are called "Juvenile Detention".

1. Juvenile Hall (most kids go here.)
2. California Youth Authority (CYA) for very serious offenses and career youth criminals who committed crimes before their 18th birthday. Here the kids can be up to 25 years old. Some even transfer to State Prison after they turn 25.
